How to make the clock display time while parked
How to make the clock display time while parked
Hi, How can you show the time on the display while the car is parked. All of the other cars have a clock/display or similar button you can push so the display shows the time momenterily.
I tried the users manual and pretty much pushed all the buttons on the dash but nothing.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Not sure what year your vehicle is but on the 2010 with nav it definitely isn't possible. The clock is tied into the GPS so it needs the whole HD running to get a time update. If you hop in a 2010 model with nav and start the car up, you'll notice a delay before the clock actually appears. This (I believe) is due to the nav firing up and figuring out where the car actually is (what time zone) before it displays what time it is.
Buy a cheap car clock but be careful a few days not driven and the car battery would go dead.
For my MDX the only clock I ever see is on the radio dial which does not work unless the key is moved to the first click. I think it resets from the radio satellite receiver.
Why the Navigation screen does not have a clock option is a sore spot with me. My cheap Honda Civic electric car has a great large clock in the nav screen when the map is not used. The civic displays on the big screen while my MDX has a hard to see in the bright sun radio dial clock!

question is.. what is the purpose for needing such a function? I'm guessing you do surveillance
or you know the response time of local LEO's and keep a tight schedule :thief:
Yeah, stalking is just not as much fun with this car.
No actually, I pick my kid from school and most of the time I run over there after mowing or doing other yard work and end up not having my watch with me. I have to wait in the parking lot (lot gets full if I'm late) until it's time to go and sign out. It's not very convenient having to start the car everytime to check if it's time. Now you know.....
