01 MDX Intermittent Starting Problems
Hey everyone my MDX has been acting up a lot lately. It has roughly 170k on the odometer, and was running great up until the past couple months. I got a misfire on all cylinders, so I gave it a tuneup. New plugs, cleaned the egr ports out, and replaced the egr valve.
Now that cleared up the misfire problem and check engine lights. But as of recently I've been having a lot of issues getting the car to actually start. I've checked the battery and connections and it is working properly as it should. The car cranks but doesn't seem to be getting fuel.
When this happens, the immobilizer green light doesn't come on. Usually when it does start, I see the light stay on for a second then shut off. This is when I replaced the ignition switch. I thought it was that but it wasn't. The car is still experiencing the no start conditions.
I have to wait about half an hour, or 10 minutes if I disconnect the battery and reconnect it, it will start right up. To get it to reproduce the settings, all I have to do is start the car, shut it off, then try to start it again. It will crank forever, and you'll never see the green immobilizer light turn on unless you wait the 30 minutes or disconnect the battery.
Does anyone have any idea what it may be? It's been causing me alot of frustration.
