Cool Ride Quality beyond 18"

I am planning on getting some 19" or some 20" wheels for my X. But I am concerned for the ride roughness. I don't want to have awesome rim with the ride quality of a cart.

Does anyone out there have large wheels on their X?

I did notice that the X that comes with larger wheels has the active damper system. I have the tech package only. Does that mean that the 18" wheel models get very rough if you go beyond that?

I'm looking to go big as well. I've searched the internet and only found a few MDX's with anything larger than 20". From what I read the ride is good.

Mine is fine--I went from 18 to 20 without a noticeable difference in ride quality. There's still enough tire with 20's that it doesnt seem to matter.

I just got my 20" on. It sounds hollow a bit. It is a bit rougher but not that much.

I have the Advanced model w 19 inch Mich active damper system.
I think the active damper is what makes it an Advanced SUV.
But you can go 20's without it - it will be a bit Ruff but guys like it Ruff.

The "ride" is a matter of opinion for some people. The Advance MDX is very nice on Comfort mode with 19's or you can select the Sport mode for a bit firmer ride. It's not a Lexus 460 but it's not a truck either. We have all heard people, who own a F150 or Silverado say that they love the ride. Personally, I have never had a ride in a truck that I could tolerate.

The ride on my MDX with 20" is not so bad. I have saved the 18" for Winter use. They will feel the same too.
