rockstar143's '04 NBP progress thread (part deux continues after 6 year hiatus)
Thanks Q...it would probably help if you stick with the same 3G this time! You have built and sold off my car twice already!
Honestly, I'm REALLY glad I did. It's impossible to find now!
a belt!
oh wait, not my pants...got it.
Okay, well, this is MY fix although seller is big on fixing it correctly. I really like them a lot, they are committed.
bought some of this stuff at home depot...sprayed with plastidip black so you wouldn't notice it...and it dried in like 10 seconds since it can dry since it breathes. Best part, is that you don't need any adhesive at all...you shove it in there and it just stays. Make sure your roof spoiler tape has cured and it's good and on there strong first since you're applying an upward force with this stuff. Good thing is you tuck it and you'll visually see the top part get nice and perfect and bow with the roof line. Been a few days now and so far so good!
I cut the strip to fit the entire length because from far, or if you duck you can see if it's just a piece and then you can tell it doesn't belong. Running the length it just looks like it's part of the support.
this was before...notice the little sag in the middle
this was after!

Seems to work well-I'm glad you found an easy fix.
Thanks Steven. Sometimes you have to think outside the box to solve the problem yourself!
Just heard that HIC might make an oem style window visor. Might be a great combo!
Can't go wrong...they are also just generating interest in their wing...the price should come back to normal soon enough. I've been in contact with them!

I appreciate that very much, Josh. I agree, we have very very similar styles...shiettt, you went and bought the other car I'd want and have been modding it the way I'd want it modded too! Awesome!

Have you been hitting the strip?

Not at all. And because I haven't, sold the phats and skinnies (along with the CJ set up & accessories) to make my Boost or Die mission come to life. Wheels and tires come and go easy. This was just one of those things that come across in the car game no one would believe you if you told them. lol! Like I said, maybe out of pocket was $2k when all said and done with sales, trades and installed.

I have a feeling it'll just be thicker or maybe incorporate some sort of ridge in it to add rigidity!
Thanks, man

Crafty with Crappy results! Ended up pulling the foam insert to hold it up...it was pushing upward so the ends got unstuck. Ended up putting a little clear silicone rtv to hold and removed the foam.

You mean I finally get to update the date on this thread!!!!!
LOL...yes sir...waxing it inspired me. I always forget how much the paint NEEDS to absorb some carnauba every few months to get that luster back.

Every few months, carnauba, Florida rain? Synthetic!
Yeah, especially since she's been sitting outside the garage lately.
I always do synthetic but over time, it almost seems like the paint gets dry (if that makes sense)...so the Gold Class with the traditional Carnauba seems to make it look wet again!

J I'm surprised... it looks like you haven't pressure washed your driveway/sidewalks yet.
Naw...I did when we first moved in back in September. Shoulda seen it before that...probably hadn't been done in a decade before then. I'll hit it again later in the year.

Ah that Florida moisture wreaking havoc then...sucks.
although, my neighbor lent me that 15" round attachment and it made a pretty quick job...and by quick i mean 10 hours instead of the entire weekend.
We may do a seal on it this time...tinted, I liked that better than an actual top seal.

I was going to ask you if you've every considered a sealant instead of waxing. It makes sense in Florida.

Nice shots, bud.
Liking the 2nd pic the best of the batch.

Steven, you should know I've tried pretty much every type of wax by now! Synthetic is good for constant upkeep but it's gone after 2 months in the sun/rain down here. The traditional wax gets sucked into the paint and gives it that depth it needs every once in a while. At least that's my finding. I tried this Pete's 53 once...it was nice, but man...for like a month, no matter how much I'd wipe it down it would have streaks and areas I missed. I returned it!
Jeff, thanks, man!
I removed them when I swapped the headlights back to no amber...with the lights off, there was nothing that matched the amber sidemarkers. At some point I'll repair the amber headlights and maybe give it another go.

Jeremy, try 22PLE. I used it on the Corvette and all I had to do after that was wash it for almost 2 years.....that's all it took.

Calipers man, you know they fitted. I thought you were all about color accents!
