TLX in the wild... and new pics

when you guys say that Acura isn't luxury are you saying that for the TL only ? I just picked up a 2011 MDX and it seems pretty upscale to me while maintaining its sportiness. Much more so than my TL-S.

Here are two new shots from the recently posted Peter Cunningham video. I really do think that the silver and white are quite attractive for this car!! I'm actually excited to start seeing this car and those jewel eyes roaming the streets.
You have to admit that the MDX has quite a striking presence on the road... I actually think the TLX may also!

If you guys are just looking for TLX "in-action" footage, the best ones are probably the ones in the Acura Media Newsroom.
Silver TLX :

Black TLX :

C'mon Acura - release some new crap while we wait through this damn delay. lol.

Thanks man! Yea if the M3 came with AWD that would be a totally different beast. I'm happy with my purchase, it was the m3 or a loaded 335i like yours, I got an amazing deal on it so I couldn't pass that up.

Hi all,
I haven't seen this posted on here, so I'm posting in case you haven't seen it yet. These were posted on the RonJon sport design facebook... It looks like they already have some aftermarket kits and accessories on the way or at least in mind for the TLX. What do you think? ... still kinda boring? I definitely like the wheels and the grille.
I have a feeling that sprucing this TLX up is going to be rather costly.

I saw that pic last night. Even with proposed kit, the TLX still looks tame, boring, and not aggressive. Too much like the 3G TL, almost reminiscent of the 1G TSX. It's ok, but doesn't generate that "wow" factor.
The TLX prototype should have been released as is from the factory. IMHO.

I love the de-beaking now if Acura would just get the message. With this grille the 3G heritage comes through very nicely.

Looks cheep?? Rather go with a Type-s or Aspec that isnt made? how can you say you would rather go with something you havent seen??

My 02 Passat had a completely hidden exhaust. I mean, you had to literally stick your head under the bumper to see the 2 tips. Actually, several German makers have figured this out. Perhaps Acura should take a look? The exhaust in the upper pictures looks like they took a 98 Accord V6 exhaust and retrofitted it.

Is it just me or does this simply look like a plain ole car with jewel headlights? I guess I have been spoiled by my 4G. Has anyone rendered a photoshop of a the TLX with headlights of a 4G? I'm just curious as to how that would look. There is nothing jumping out at me on this car except the front of the car. Nothing to see from the front wheel well to the back of the car which contains unfinished exhaust pipes that are visible from all angles. Not a fan of the rims either.

Probably just a lack of vocabulary or understanding. We recently had a RLX Hybrid shipped to Hawaii for training. It had 8,000 miles on it, and was not our car. Since it belonged to AHM, I guess it could be called a Demo, but it was their demo, not ours.

RandomRon....Thanks for posting this picture. WOW that TLX sure looks bland.

At least my 4G TL still looks fresh and aggressive, as polarizing as it is; the TLX you posted is just too conservative. Doesn't stand out, doesn't scream "got to have it." I guess Acura is okay with that.

Looks nice to me. I guess it's because it reminds me of the 3G, which I like. Thanks for the pic RandomRon.
Lately the 4G MMC has grew on me as well. Seen a black one at the gas station last week.

Whatever will happen if the Mercedes-Benz S-class from the same year as your Passat starts "hiding" their exhaust?

Would you rather have this or one of these...
Sad when two low 20K family sedan look much more inviting and desireable than the "exciting" TLX
The Lincoln MKZ utter destroy the TLX in the presence and expensive look department (no I do not need to see the TLX in presence, is so obvious)...aggressive and yet very elegant and refined, it look expensive...a Lincoln...
The supposeldy ugly early 4G TL, controversial as you want it, in the stance & presence department makes the TLX cower in fear....and it look much more modern and muscular
You are in deep dodo Acura......

Heck I find the Malibu probably more attractive...at least it is the more original design since arrived before...

Another much better looking car in my book.....and its design is at least 4-5 years old, the Buick Regal.....even here, more aggressive, more presence
At the same time I strongly invite you to go and look at the new Genesis...I did last week....look what you can get for under 40K....truly impressive, not only in the value department (already a strong point of the previous one) but on look, style and refinement on its own term.....

NO…Candy Apple Red was the color for this car but Acura chickened out on it.
If I could afford an Audi I'd leave Acura behind. Their cars do not attract younger buys at any level as the options are limited and some of the tech down right lousy.

^^ *LMAO* OMG...even you know about my white fetish!
I think the only thing that will save this car is what the bodykit will look like, and the associated wheels. I am withholding my final decision until I see it in the flesh...

^^ Nice effort but still looks awful!
I hate to say this, but from that angle and wheel, the first thing that comes to mind is the Verano (from the rear door backward) In my defense, I am having a glass of wine *lol*

They should have tried a little harder on the C pillar. It looks too smooth and washed to be sporty. The ILX's looks great, the RLX's looks great. This one looks meh.
The whole car overall is washed out with odd sharp points here and there.

I love the Fusion styling, and the MKZ is not bad, but the interior materials in the MKZ are no better than a Sonata, if Lincoln can redo the MKS and put some really top end materials in it they may be on a roll.

It is really amazing how the prototype garnered so much attention and positive reaction all because of the front and rear facias and 20" wheels. I guess it doesn't take very much to transform a car.

I'm so over the TLX. Good luck with whatever demographic you're after with that thing Acura. I see a 2013 TL almost every morning and I have to say, like others have said, the 4G is getting better looking everyday.
