^ Same here I agree, although the wheels would look a lot better if they were black w/polished lip. I know people think that look is played out but I'll always love it.

I haven't gotten a 330mile tank in a very long time. And my fill ups are usually ~11.5-12 gallons.

And yes, the tank is small. I've run it down to where there was only 1/10th left. That was a nervous day.

I see, I see.

I'm thinking of getting my engine oil changed today. Do you go to the dealer to have it done since it's free?

If not, what do you use? I'd rather just buy the engine oil and filter myself to do it.

I do it myself. But if you have free changes, might as well have them do it just in case you ever have any engine troubles.

Good point. I'll probably just have the dealer to do it then. Didn't know Subaru gives people 2 yrs of free maintenance.

I'll just do the first one myself though. I don't think they will change the oil after 400 miles.

Be careful with that...and KNOW who is sponsoring the event and their attention to safety and their record with it.

Took it to the near canyon road last night for the first time. Drove up to about 4000 ft up.

I must say I'm in . The car felt so much better than I expected. I drove the same canyon road with my Mazdaspeed3 a lot before after I finished tuning it.

I really can't believe how fun this car is. It just feels so.. RIGHT in the corners. Sure my MS3 was tuned and had almost twice the torque than BRZ has, but I could feel that I was running through the corners at much faster pace.

With my MS3, it was more like blasting through the section between A corner to B corner. But this car enables me to really work in the corners and smoothly make the transition between corner to corner. Not sure how to describe it, but that's how I felt. It just felt RIGHT. Maybe it's the lightness of the 2800lb. Maybe it's the RWD vs FWD. I don't know. It felt lovely.

Can't wait to hit the track for the first time and learn from the people who know how to drive properly.

Got it. It's called 86CUP or something. Found the thread over at BRZ forum. Talked to couple organizers and they seemed really nice. They told me I'll be taking the instruction classes both in and out of the track. Will be able to run 5 20 minute session throughout the day.

I just want to try it, that's all. Gotta start somewhere, right?

I've been watching track videos to see how it is there. Some people drive way too fast.

Anyway, I've gone past 500 miles.

Need 500 more miles before my first track day.

So, the track event organizer recommended me to pick up a new set of brake pads and brake fluid. That would make the runs much more fun for me he said. Not sure if I'm going to have these done before 18th but will probably get them soon as I plan to participate at least 6 track events this year. Funnnnnn

Suggestion - Look into Motul for the fluid. I know they make fluid designed for track and racing use.

Back in the day, I switched my TL over to Motul DOT 5.1 - https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/performance-brake-upgrade-cheap-sorta-807814/

Just make sure you get a compatible fluid for your brake system.

Yeah, just checked over at the forum. That's the fluid I need.

And the guy recommended me to pick up these brake pads. He said it's much better to just swap these in for the track days only since these do get pretty noisy. It's like $400 for both front and back. Not bad.

Definitely swap pads. There was a guy from Atlanta that participated in a track day at VIR shortly after the car was released. The brakes didn't hold up, and his trip back to Atlanta was freightening, according to him.

Cool, cool.

Currently talking to couple vendors about the brake pads + fluid. The event organizer said he can swap pads and fluid at the track for me @ $100.

Did you mean "frightening"? Because I can't imagine he was hauling a lot of "freight" in that little car.

He had tires in the back, and with the brakes in the state they were in, it stopped more like an 18 wheeler
