Trans jerky
Trans jerky
Any other ZDX owners out there notice the trans seems jerky at mid gear? I've notice a very distinct jerking motion when traveling around 40-60 MPH. It's almost like the car is between gears and can't decide to shift. There are no noises or any other indications of issues, just an annoying jerking feel until I increase speed or romp on it. I plan to drop the car off at Acura this week and will post once they look at it, but was curious if anyone else felt this? I know they had trans issues in past years, but this doesn't match the symptoms that issue caused. Hopefully just a quick program download to revamp, but we'll see. Let me know if you have felt this and if you did anything about it. If you haven't noticed it feel for it when you drive and let me know if it is noticeable once you look for it. I can't be the only one, so hopefully it can be fixed quick and easy...
FYI... I've not found info on the ZDX, but definitely an ongoing issue for 2010-2012 MDX's. I assume same trans is in my car, so probably the same issue. I'll get a hold of Acura and address it, still curious if anyone else has felt this or had the issue fixed.
Does it look like this service bulletin?

If yes then go to your dealer and do it
I feel that the tranny jerks when you swiftly release the gas pedal after accelerating and sometimes when shifting from 1 to 2 on mid RPMs but thats about it. What you described looks like the bulletin

Dropping off the car at Acura for a program download and possible trans fluid flush as noted on the bulletin. Hopefully all will be well then, seems Acura knows the computer is not properly programmed for the torque converter but hasn't sent out a mass notification to owners.
Dealer seemed to fix it by following the bulletin. They downloaded the new trans program and decided to do the fluid flush while I was there just to make sure. All seems to be good now...

Is this technical service bulletin for the tranny/ torque converter programming something that all of us need to do?
I've read that the update just delays when it upshifts... Which makes the car more zippy... But should worsen the fuel economy? I've read some owners claim that they go from 19 avg to 14.5 average.

The dealership will only do the update if the car needs it. I do not know what my MPG was before the update, but I get around 17-18 now with most of it city driving. All I know is MPG was not a thought that came to mind because the update was necessary and there was no way I could drive it without it.
