Also - looks identical to my Lectron adapter

probably from the exact same Chinese factory
And now I don't have to call myself a Lyric in the Tesla app in order to find charging stations. Just set ZDX with adapter, and the very same locations pop up that did with the Lyric setting.
So if you have a 3rd party adaptor, you still have to call yourself a Lyric? I the restriction is from within the adaptor, then I would have assumed that even if you call yourself a Lyric it won't work. But it does so I assume the restriction came down to car models. So if the Acura ZDX is now cleared, then even 3rd party adaptors should work. Or am I missing something?
The adapter does not contain any “smarts”. It just a plug converter. The identification of the vehicle is done with the computer built into the ZDX. You can use any adapter you wish. Although Honda/Acura recommend theirs if you want to keep the warranty.
In the press release, Honda also confirmed EV app support and Plug & Charge are being developed. There are certainly a lot of Acuralink backend updates these days. I hope we will get plug and charge soon.
I ended up not needing to use a Supercharger on that trip. I used an EVgo charger on the way there just because I have credits. I wouldn't use them otherwise - too expensive. But the car handled the trip beautifully and it was surprisingly efficient. I shared more data here.

Although I promised a post in the thread "Order an adapter via the EV App". I thought an update made more sense here. I used my Yomile brand (Amazon) NACS adapter today at a Tesla charger in Manassas and was quite pleased with the experience. I had downloaded the Tesla app and configured it and my vehicle appropriately, including payment information, ahead of time. Upon arrival I selected the location and the charging pedestal, plugged in, and charging started immediately. It quickly ramped up to the high 180's kW, but dropped to below 100 after about 7 minutes. Finished up in the 50's and took 36 minutes to ad about 141 miles. This is definitely a great opportunity for travel, and worth the $100 I spent on the adapter to know I can charge nearly anywhere! The Tesla cost is excessive at $.57/kW, but again if on the road and it's more convenient, an acceptable option.
