Z owners, have any of you guys custom built a subwoofer enclosure in the lower storage compartment in our tiny trunk? I thought about the idea but not sure if it's possible. My base model just doesn't crank enough bass for my ear

I dont think anyone tried this but the lower compartment just begs for installing some hardware there

I just checked with a local audio shop and it is buildable with 2 10" Alpine Type S with a custom built-in box. They will have to build a new covertop and lay carpet on it so it looks as OEM and stealth. I'm curious if any alternative such as fiberglass enclosure on one of the side storages.

Side storage is do able but might stick out cause of the limited airspace, or the depth of the magnet...

Subscribed! As great as the sound system, it's missing that deep bass power. Why not remove the factory subwoofer next to the jack and try to configure a JL sub there?

That area is to small to actually get a good size box and sub in.... The best area is the lower storage area..

Have you actually looked at the factory ZDX sub? It's an 8" Panasonic in a down firing 0.88 cubic foot sealed poly enclosure. It's quite large my friend and other than the tiny amplifier, quite well constructed.
