Register Leased ZDX in Tesla App
Now that Tesla officially supports the ZDX on their super chargers, we are trying to use one of those super chargers. My wife already had the ZDX added to the Tesla app BEFORE the ZDX was officially supported. However, when trying to search for a charging station, all she gets is 8kWh and 9kWh stations.
I also have the Tesla app installed on my phone but under a different account which no vehicle registered yet. I tried to register it now but the app says "unable to claim ownership". Among other things to check it says "Confirm car is not leased". Well, we leased the car as this was the only way to get the $7,500 tax credit. Searching the web, it seems we need to call Tesla at (877) 798‑3752, or do a chat through the app which I don't like as it's slow. Did you have to go through the same steps? Were there any complications? Do you just need the VIN and the address of the place where you leased the ZDX?

When you say you tried to register it in the Tesla app, that wording concerns me. You did not go to "Add Product", did you? If so, stop and do this:
Hit the three horizontal bars, top-right. Next select "Charging". Then "Vehicle Details", then the plus-sign. Make sure you select that you have a NACS DC adapter. All should be good at this point.

mulunu, I think what you might be looking for is what they call "plug and charge" capability, which we Acura owners do not qualify for yet with the Tesla app. Based on what I've seen on the OutofSpec YouTube channel(s), there are quite a few brands that although they have access and use of the Tesla network they cannot access "plug and charge." I was able to use the service after receiving my adapter a few weeks ago without difficulty, although it's quite expensive power!
