Headlights fogged

Just got my zdx…love it! I’m wondering are these fogged inside or on the outside? I assume if it’s outside I can use one of the remedies to make them look new again.

love all the great info here!

If it is outside, then such defects should be felt with your fingers. If it’s inside, you can try to remove the headlight and wash it with Johnson Baby or drink water, if that doesn’t help, then wash it with 93% isopropyl alcohol.

Just buff and seal them with a rotary and they will look like new. Or just get a headlight restoration kit on Amazon.

I had the same problem, until I crashed through a fence and started over with all new headlights (didn’t have to worry then about the bulbs burning out either..ha ha/smiley face).

no drivers side available from any dealer or searchable parts house that I could find. . I was able to acquire a passenger side NIB but not a drivers side. And I did recently notice on eBay there is a company making a copy.

SO dont crash again//

I would add Paint Protective Film (PPF) on the headlights after you restore them. I used 3M PPF with UV protection and it helped keep my HID clear on my 11 MDX. Some members experienced even faster UV hazing after restoring them without PPF protection.

The red circle has UV hazing because the odd shaped HID headlight made it hard to PPF the entire cover.

What kind of 3M film did you use? As far as I know, the 3M Scotchgard stretches well and does not allow such defects.

correct. not just headlights but many parts that are unique to the model. they only need to support for 10 years.

I used 3M Scotchgard Pro Series PPF. It was from a local shop that did custom fit partial PPF clear bra on the front end (bumper, 12-18 inches up hood, partial front fenders, and side mirrors). It was extra to add HIDs and fogs. Used 3M PPF for partial bra on my 06 TSX, 08 RDX and 11 MDX. Switched to Xpel Ultimate Plus for my 18 RLX Sport Hybrid (entire vehicle) and Suntek Ultra PPF for my 19 MDX Sport Hybrid (entire hood, front fender, front/rear bumper, mirrors & ceramic coating everywhere else).

So far, all three of the PPF do a very good job in the southwestern sun of filtering out the UV rays that cause hazing.
