Fun New Bug!!!
Fun New Bug!!!
My ZDX has had issues being "confused" by multiple key FOB's. With a FOB in the vehicle, the doors may randomly lock and the mirrors fold closed, Somehow, when this happens, the door unlock button inside becomes disabled.
The "new" bug happens when I use the manual door handle to escape my ZDX trap. Once pulled, the alarm now goes off(horn honking, lights flashing) and OnStar responds with a vehicle theft protocol. Quick press of the red button on the FOB disables the vehicle alarm. Shortly thereafter, I receive a text message about the vehicle theft. I can respond directly to the message, hoping to clear the OnStar system. Only to be pulled over an hour later and questioned by the local police.
Sadly, I missed the email sent by OnStar, to fully clear the alarm response by OnStar.
Good thing to know, OnStar is fairly proactive on the vehicle theft side of things.

Have you or the technician ever tried a 12V hard reset?
Yeah I don't get any charging notifications, but OnStar alarms have been working flawlessly since day 1. Wish Honda would just transfer us to full-stack OnStar, so we can manage OnStar subscriptions online ourselves...

I've never tried a hard reset or asked a tech.
This theft alert is new and easily reproduced. I have an appointment with Acura of Pleasanton, in Jan, to look into several bugs. Having just gotten my ZDX back from an auto body repair(3+ weeks to fix my front end mods using the bumper of a Ram p/u
), I want to see if some of the calibrations done after the body work has alleviated any of the bugs I've experienced. So far, the adaptive cruise control no longer slows down when I'm approaching/passing a semi truck/trailer on the freeway.

Found Another Fantastic Acura Safety Feature(Bug.Glitch)
I had to cross the CA Central Valley yesterday. The "famous" tule fog was ever present. Not quite dark enough to the trigger the automatic lights to turn on themselves. So I thought I'd do it manually. Scroll through the Home Screen>>Controls>>More Controls>>Lights and select the on position. Only to have the ZDX turn the headlights off after 15-20 minutes of driving. I tried again when I noticed the headlight indicator was not on in the dashboard. Only to have my ZDX turn them off again. The battery level was well above 60% when both occurrences happened.
So I have no idea why or what caused this fabulous safety feature to trigger the lights off.
Just another bug/glitch to bring up to the dealer in Jan 2026.
