I've seen it, I've been for a ride in it. I hated the prototype, I wasn't found of the production model in pictures. Live and in person, it's pretty impressive, not nearly as large as you think it would be. The lines are much more attractive in person than in pictures.

 

I was at the LA auto show yesterday and let me tell you, as soon as people saw the price they walked away from it (50K+)

 

still cheaper than a BMW X6 3.0L Twin-Turbo - which I believe is the targeted competition (about the same general HP/Torque for that trim)

I like the looks of it, and it's not gonna be for the masses, this will be for those who want something unique and have the cash to pay for it (i.e. those who would otherwise buy an X6)

The price could be a little lower but if you look at the RL the two are comparibly equipped, sort of justifies the cost.

 

Its O.K. looking, but I don't know if its worth the money. Especially because of how bad the fuel economy is supposed to be. I think its as bad as or worse than the MDX.

^ as far as looks, I'm not too fond of the ZDX, or any car in this "segment". As a matter of fact, I hate the entire segment.

Who's bright idea was it to make a car that had the space and practicality of a coupe, the size of an SUV, the looks of Rosie O'Donnell, and the visibility of an 18-wheeler?

 

Another model with that...........that beak!! At least the back seat folds down....

 

i think the ZDX looks pretty good and I think it will start to sell. I wouldnt be surprised if a year from now I see more ZDX's than X6's on the road

 

 

I might, especially since the base is $45k and ones with all the goodies will be closer to $55k as far as I've read.

Another watered down Acura engine...really 3.7L with 300HP and 270TQ That needs to be putting out 350HP and 300TQ

Yeah, maybe Acura should have the same person / team who design the interior do the exterior as well.

Funny thing is if the ZDX actually starts doing well, no one would have guessed it.

 

I want to see it in person....I hope it does well for them - they need it.

 

I can say that it looks MUCH MUCH MUCH better in person than it does in photos.
I wish I had the coin, I would buy one right away.

 

Love the interior. Exterior is something I am not repulsed too, and feel it definitely looks better than the TL. Once the launch hype passes by and the incentives start to kick in, this might still sell at a price point similar to TL SHAWD which could give it some volume.

 

Did you take note of the concave surfaces covered in hand stitched leather? This is a 1st for the automotive industry. No other manufacturer has covered a concave surface in leather. Each panel takes approximately a half hour to complete.

As for this vehicle not being for the masses you are 100% correct. This isn't supposed to be better than a MDX or RDX, it supposed to be different than those 2 vehicles. Target production for the 1st year is between 6500 and 10000 units so even if they sell allof them with ease, don't expect to see them everywhere on the streets.

I'm not feeling the 'grill' but I like it. Not unlike Astro, I'd get one if I had the $$$$.....especially as we're really enjoying our 09 MDX.

 

I like the rear and interior....NOT the front end, why does Acura keep doing that?

 

Interior is nice...but, not a fan of the exterior.

 

I think I like it unseen, but it's complicated cause I like coupes but I hate SUVs, it's a couped down SUV I guess, with some of the best appointments in an Acura yet.

frustrating that cooled seats and radar cost you big bucks. these are options you can get for a few Ks in a Buick or Caddy.

 

As Astro and F23A4, I would get it if I had $$$, I like the exterior, interior and the technology of the car...May get a slightly used one in 2 years though.

 

The seats aren't actually cooled, they are ventilated. They do not blow cool air up from the seat cushion, they pull the warm air down from it. It has the same effect as a "cooled seat" but it doesn't leave your a$$ feeling wet. They work well from my experience however my testing was done on an unseasonably warm December day in New England so the seats weren't scorching hot to start with

 

Considering it's competition: Infiniti's FX, BMW's X6, Volvo's XC60...used...I dunno, it'd be hard choice if you ask me.

 

Just admit it, you're suffering from buyer's remorse.

 

i'd take that x6, just cus of the fookin power it has, I mean who is literally gonna try and road race a crossover?

but highway passing would be a joke in the x6

Wanna buy the FX50...?

 

The X6 pricing starts where the ZDX tops out. So if the ZDX is overpriced then the X6 xDrive35i is a total bank-breaker.

Though both appear to have respectable performance for crossovers, I dont think anyone is looking to AutoX either of these vehicles much.

 

Love the interior, as for the exterior, I'll have to wait until I see it at NYIAS in March.
