Talking FINALLY .. I own a ZDX!

I updated the Owners sign in page with my ZDX, but I know we have such little activity here for us chosen few ZDX owners thought I would start a new thread with some pics and story.

I had my 2004 TL for about 7 years, and MAN I loved that car. Joined AZ here in 2012, but had been a "stalker" for years. I loved my TL, but the winters in Kentucky FINALLY caught up and KICKED my and my TL's A$$ last winter. SO the ZDX is a much needed upgrade...not to mention I could not even get up the HILL on the side of my house after a rain in the TL lol...so it's nice to have ALL traction working

Found my ZDX on CARMAX of all places, after looking and having TWO local Acura dealers looking for me a ZDX. Snagged "VICTORIA" my ZDX for UNDER $30,000 and she's fully loaded advance, thankfully the last owner was a Acura guy and put a ton of accessories on ... wish I could thank him for the $$ he saved me. She's got a few more tweaks coming from me. But overall I haven't had her 24 hours and I'm already swooning! I am BEYOND glad to be a part of a rather exclusive niche in the Acura world!

Congrat, that is a really nice ZDX, it has running board and also the ZDX rim as well, I am curious if you don't mind answering a few question, what year is your ZDX and and what is the milage? I just bought mine recently, same color but have no accessories like the one you have. I paid about $30k for mine but it is a CPO. What other tweaks are you gonna do? I am working with a body shop to replace all the exterior light to led from velds. I already replace all the interior light to led.

Congratulations!
P.S. If you want to change the alloy wheels - I would have bought these with pleasure

Thanks! I am very happy with it. It is a 2010, and mileage is at 64,800. The previous owner upgraded the ZDX a lot and put majority of the accessories on it. I plan to add the rear bumper sensors, the bumper applique, tint to windows, upgrade the HID's from 4000k to either 6 or 8000k, and the interior door puddle lights to LED.

Haha! they are great wheels arent they!? I love them and don't want to change them. I know they come in a CHROME, but I had chrome on my TL and absolutely hated the up keep of chrome, so I'll rock these just fine! I MAY plastidip them a black, but that's a SMALL maybe, if I do though and hate it I can always peel off and go on we will see!

No to "upgrading" to a higher kelvin rating for that bluish look...highly recommend the Osram CBI or philips equivalent bulb...cost you about $160 or so for a pair but it'll be worth it for the quality and visibility.

Killer upgrade, they gave me one during the dash replacement on my 2004 TL and I absolutely loved driving it. ZDX just got a lot of looks since it's so futuristic looking. Congrats!

and I vote keep the wheels as is...no Plastidipping your expensive Acura.

I actually try that with the philips and they don't turn out to be white, still have yellowish look to them. But I didn't know about osram chi, well too late because I already got the leds already. I agree, don't plastidip it just make it feel cheaps, keep as it is.

by the way, that a very good deal, I like to see more pictures of what you modified on your car. I post some as soon as my car is done with the lights

Thanks! I had the stock 4000k bulbs on my TL switched to 6000k and I LOVED them the change was a major + it actually gave me better visability and MUCH more range, not to mention a higher end look. My buddy has a tech ZDX and has the 8000k and they're a bit TOO blue, and it looks amazing, but if I do it I'll go to a 6000k, but good thing is if I hate them, they can always be changed back

The plastidip is not/will not ever happen the wheels are amazing as is and even better in person

No doubt, man...
I will tell you that it's impossible for the blue to give you more visibility than stock 4300K...it does look cool, but I guess I'm "over" that look, myself.

CBI give you the white you're looking for without the blue and is noticeably whiter than the stock 4300 yellowish. That might be what you're looking for...

Here's a fantastic thread with comparison pics: between the known brightest! Trust me, cheap aftermarket and over 5 to 6K can't compare, brightness and quality wise.
Sorry to be pushy, I just firmly believe in these and how bright they are at night. Safety first!

So from that link the guy says he likes SVS...but you say go with CBI. To me the SVS looks MUCH clearer...what do you have in your car? Where would I even purchase such lights.

Just wondering how those 20" ZDX (3G TL Concept wheels) are not chrome. Are they painted?

And I love your ZDX, congrats! I wouldn't do muc to it or go over 6000K for the lights.
Maybe get Sandro to hook you up with the custom taillights and a turbo? lol

I'm looking forward to more pics!!

Not sure if they're painted. I'm glad that they aren't the chrome. I have seen a few when I was searching for this one that had chrome. The wheels don't look or feel painted one had a chip missing and I saw no chrome under the paint. So who knows. Perhaps this was a 2nd option for the wheels? I am not too familiar with what all the ZDX's had to offer. I do know all stock photos and accessory photos show the advance wheels like mine on the flat non chrome like I have.

I will more than likely eventually go 6000k like I had on the TL. I miss the bright led looking blue white. This stock crap just isn't me haha. But I'm good with the engine in it. I need to slow my ass down I got in too much trouble in my TL I am enjoying the "slower/heavy" pace in this zdx but I am very happy!!

I'll have photos tmmrw after the tint job

agreed with rockstar.
you'll hurt visibility with 8000 Kelvin bulbs.

plus, you'll look like a ricer.

Someone may have put them through a de-chrome-ing process involving acid. lol
They look kinda bare and naked, most alloy wheels have a slight glaze or smoke to them which would explain the bare/ exposed alloy that was hidden by the chrome.

Either way it's better than chrome.

If they did strip them they professionally did because the wheels are sparkly up close have flecks of shine through them are stamped and look OEM not flat or nude at all. The photos are off my iphone and the top is a stock car max photo. I haven't taken any new photos yet. I will soon. My friend who works for Acura says they're stock wheels but typically only used in Canada? Which I know the car is MFR'd from Canada but it's been America from the jump because I'm the 3rd owner. When I take it to him at Acura I will get a better explanation. But regardless I am so glad it's not chrome haha. Chrome looks nice. But they're a huge PIA to keep clean let alone maintain.

SO! I told ya I would find out and get back with you? Well they are most def PAINTED. They were painted by the first owner and have been re painted one time since. The chrome is sitting lovely under the paint, as I just curb checked myself yesterday at taco hell (bell) and I can see a nice bright shiny CHROME under the paint needless to say not too pleased, but did get the paint he had put on and it's all touched up now. But they are not a stock option as I was told by the dealer, they are in fact painted. So you sir...win

Very nice Spence,

Congrats on the sweet ride You planning any mods? I would have loved to buy a ZDX for my wife, buy she would only drive a Lexus. Ended up getting her a 2014 Lexus IS 250 AWD F-Sport. All ZDX and 09+ RL owners have their own exclusive niche, welcome to the club. BTW, loving the wheels.

Nice car, enjoy.

Thanks Terry! I am planning to put the rear parking sensor's on, blacking out the red reflectors by the exhaust, and putting the rest of the interior wood trim in, I have the steering wheel and shift knob already. Also will upgrade fog lights to led/white the daytime to white/led, and turn signals to white not amber, and the stock 4000K to 6000K hid's. otherwise she has all the stuff already on her!
