ZDX Interior Appreciation Thread

Just wanted to create a thread appreciating the ZDX interior. Every time I sit in mine I am at awe at how nice and soft the materials are. Even my passengers are like WOW...this is nice. I still think the ZDX has one of the best interiors Acura has ever created and can easily go head to head with the so-called upper class German brands. Also better than Lexus and Infiniti too. And the plastic Cadillac interiors don't even stand a chance.

Wish I could be lucky enough to sit in one.

Unfortunately, it is the only Acura with a quality interior that you can label luxury and rival the luxury Germans and Lexus's higher priced models. The rest of Acura's line up is done with cheap looking plastic and fake wood. Have you seen the new MDX's interior? The previous gen MDX's interior is years ahead and it wasn't all that luxurious to begin with.

I have noticed that Acura seems to be taking a step backwards when it comes to its newer models interiors. Call me crazy, but I would prefer the outgoing RL's interior over the new RLX. And even the 4G TL's interior seems nicer than the TLX based on the pics I've seen. And the 3G TL interior and dash was nicer than the 4G.

I think the Z was a stepping stone to the possible move to Tier 1 before that was scrapped. I love the materials and fit and finish, esp the rear carpeted area but not the front seat headroom. I'm average size and I drive low slung coupes but the headroom in this large truck is poor and with the narrow windows and poor back views I feel claustrophobic in a Z. I'm not as bothered by the 2nd seat headroom, it's worse, but I wouldn't be sitting in the back..

The silver plastic console trim does not seem up to par and I have noticed on several Zs, the concave dash area above the glovebox the leather was bubbling up. I contribute that to the heat here.

no, I don't own a Z but have test driven, studied and sat in many...and I still love them..only the front headroom and the mpg are minuses for me.

I agree the 2G RL was my fav Acura interior for years...

Hmm...strange...I'm 6'8" and have no issue with fitting in my '13 ZDX(except in the back, but that'll never happen other than the one time I tried to get in there LOL)

I don't like the Silver trim(really sticks out in the Black interior) and am thinking about doing a Carbon Fiber look on those trim pieces.

Would also agree my old '06 RL interior is right up there with the ZDX's.

Must be that in my coupe the seating is lower from the ceiling. not that I couldn't acclimate to a Z I guess.
with the '13 you got an improved console trim over the 10-12. I kinda like the 13 center console changes.

I would prefer the '13 center console as well. If only the silver pieces on the dash and the doors were also the dark wood grain to match. The wood trim steering wheel and shift knob option would've been nice too.

You can buy many of the '13 black wood console trim pieces and switch out. I checked the availability a while back when I was hoping to be in the Z market.

I think Acura designers put thought into the ZDX's interior that they have not put into other Acura cars. I like the ZDX's interior better than any other Acura I have owned including my "flagship" 2005 RL.

Going from an 04 TL to my Z it was other than going with a 08-12 RL it was the only luxurious step. My 04 TL had more luxury feel and style than majority of all newer Acura. I love my z and feel it's right up there in the luxury feel. The added wood trim package is a major plus and great compliment to the leather surrounds. The car is a total joy to drive at night. It's my faveorite by far "night rider" I've ever owned.
