2,000 miles into my oil change on 2010 ZDX 67,000 miles and decided to check oil since I received that letter regarding our engines burning oil and I was down a quart. I never had to check oil with my 2004 TL so I made an appointment because I’m not use to having a car I have to keep a eye on the oil level. I go like 6 months to get 3,000 miles for oil changes since we have 3 cars so down a quart in 2,000 miles doesn’t seem normal for a Acura.

 

This vehicle burns a lot of oil. Honda claims that 1qt burned every 1000 miles is considered "normal". That doesn't sound normal to me at all, my previous Acuras have never burned a drop of oil.

 

Well picked car up from dealer and starting consumption oil test but wish there was a better test then me going up there three times to complete this.
Thank God the oil change was no charge

I hope this ends well cause I really love my ZDX yet I don’t want car blowing blue smoke later if that’s the case.
So in 1,000 miles I go back. I would feel better if this was a recall.

wtf if its a Design Flaw in the rings as they say, all the engines have the design flaw.
they are only fixing the ones that are currently in very bad shape.
what happens to the rest of us if it happens at a later date or higher mileage than today.
im at 71,000 and burn about a qt every 2500.
