it's a local edmonton forum 780tuners. com

most of the cars on there are JDM imports. Used to be all civics and shit like that but now that you can get a 300hp+ car for 5000$, that kind of took over. There is only a few good people on there as far as I can tell. Sanjay, also a member of this forum (Darkness) is one of them. A few nice builds on 780, and a lot of trolling and shit talking. I usually check out For Sale threads and some pic threads but I don't visit too often.
They usually have meets every friday at Tim Hortons just off whyte ave and there is usually meets on Thursdays at Tim Hortons at Namao. And they have a Season Opener and a season closer meets.

No custom magnaflow exhaust Mitchell? Yeah no worries, not in a big rush to get the coils installed anyway. The roads are clearing up and I spotted some city crew patching up the pot holes which is nice. I swapped back to my TL-S wheels and summer tires earlier tonight. I like to assume winter is finished.

Yikes how'd you get that damage? Since it looks so minor and right above the wheel well, you might be able to get away with using touch up paint. If you take that to a body shop, they'll have to blend the fender and possibly the bumper and door. If you take it into a shop, make sure you inspect that paint after and make sure the paint match is spot on. The KBP I detailed in the summer had damage that was fixed and blended. The paint was a terrible mismatch. It had like 10x the amount of pearl on the repainted section compared to OEM.

oh you'll hear it haha. Jpipe and straights with cannons, Hellaloud!

Was gonna go custom but for the price I wanna hear how it sounds, if it sounds decent ill cut the tips of and get quads welded on(Maybe a resonator too). so my complete exhaust is about 20hp'ish, and if I ever feel like precat's another 15-20 (Too much work)

It was fixed with a paint pen and after washing the car a few times it got cleaned off, So since its down to metal may aswell fix it before it starts to rust, and got a tiny rock chip above my headlight that is a nice rusty color

I would put a resonator on that exhaust, but that's just me. I wouldn't want my TL to sound like a 500$ civic, all raspy and annoying the shit out of everyone around me.
Did you put clear over the paint you put on the fender? I had a lot of rock chips on my car, and they all got rusty over time. I did the toothpick method and fixed it all up. Then got vince to detail my car so it covered it even more and kind of blended it in. It wasn't perfect but there was no rusty spots at all.

So today I see a TL driving on henday, black and it looks all "frosty", thinking the guy left it outside so the paint isn't all shiny first thing in the morning. Turns out it's wrapped in mate black wrap. It was a pretty shitty job and the wrap was bubbling around the indent that runs down the side of the car. Especially around door handles.

Lol don't all the WDPs on this thread already have a-spec kits? I think my next door neighbor may have picked up a WDP TL-S. That or there has been someone visiting from Calgary for a while since it has a "Silverhill" dealer frame. I never see them outside so I haven't had the chance to ask yet.

The only way to pull off matte black paint is to have everything custom first. Imo it's absolutely necessary to have wheels and a drop to pull off something like a matte look. The TL's are getting cheaper, this means they're getting in the wrong hands lol.

Has to be the right kind of car. The TL isn't it.

My brother-in-law's dealership had a matte wrapped Challenger on the floor. That looked cool...ominous even.

Yup...'09 SH-AWD / Tech. Picked it up from original owner in the beginning of December (haven't had a chance to open it up on clean dry roads on summer rubber, yet).

Doesn't make me a bad person, does it?

No serious plans as yet. Had planned on getting some nice rims to hold on to my summer tires, keeping the OEM's for the winters, but I'm thinking I may wait until it's time to replace the summers, and then maybe consider jumping up to 19's (pretty sure I've got 18's there now) for summer. And I'm tempted to drill out the cover's on the floor lighting, as I've seen some guys do, but I probably won't do that until the warranty is up in a year (partly to avoid warranty issues, and partly because I'm lazy and know I won't get around to it until then).

Mods are a sticky subject for me; growing up, my father was one of those "keep it factory" types. Even bumper stickers were forbidden. He'd likely shake his head in disappointment if he saw my limo-black windows. I suppose I soaked up a bit of that ethic.

I am keeping an eye on these forums for ideas, though. Particularly anything that gives an HP kick.

Initially when I got my car, I kept thinking I'll do very minor tweaks. But the more I've been on this forum, the more interested I become in making changes. A lot of mine are simple and subtle. My most extravagant one will be the custom front grille. You won't see me rocking bright orange wheels or pink calipers though haha.

Nice fogs Mitch! I still need to install mine. I've had them for sitting in my house for over a year lol. Are you planning on getting some switchbacks? They make the lights a lot more aggressive looking.

Fogs are nice but one or the other doesn't like to work all the time, Easy to install even with taking bumper off, Took about a hour and half over all, Didn't know what i was doing just trail and error.

Silverhill is where my TL is from, The owner owned it. Hope he maintained it well

I'll get to the installation sometime in the near future. Did you use a relay harness as well? I was reading around and people say if you don't use one it leads to premature failure of the bulbs. Where'd you mount the ballasts?

Animal thinks, oh cool a car, lol I'll climb on it

Lalalala

Teh fux the ground is sloped

LOL it's clear again

Hmm looks like the blue ground has come to a stop

Decided to wash it today, saw Arthur drive past as I was filling up at the gas station across the street. Going to be ordering springs, new bumper and a-spec when Im back from mexico and the 240sx is running again. Then looking into some summer wheels. Hopefully I'll run into some axis shines in the near future.

Sanjay you going to get the type-s a-spec kit or do 07-08 front and type-s side and rear? Supposedly the front 07-08 can be bolted right on without modifications. Members have just used brute force and stuck it on. I was going to do the kit this summer as well but I underestimated the cost of my vacation.

^There's a guy selling a 04-6 WDP front lip made to fit 07-08 base bumpers. I don't know what's the difference of the base and tl-s bumpers but it's worth a shot.

Lol that's a good question. I imagine a good amount until you can force it to fit as flush as possible. Beats paying the couple hundred to have a body shop mold it when the difference is minimal. There's a thread somewhere about this exact topic and members have posted pictures. There was even someone who had an 04-06 a-spec molded to their KBP TL-S. It looked really good.

I think that base is the right way to go. I doubt there has to be too much modification on the bumper to make it fit. Unless you are really anal about it, then a shop should make it fit/mold it/ do what ever they do.
