Raj, that looks good. And I forgot, I will be out of town 2nd week of July.
Sanjay, I don't think it's worth it to go to the other side of town. lol. But Ricky will help me out.

Sanjay yeah i did see ur post, i checked my oil,the level is fine just durrrty, i don't think my car is hitting v tech anymore, i just noticed it 2 days ago ugh this car is turning into a money pit.. or a girlfriend actually.. gives me pleasure and heartache LOL :p
and about the sheen ur saying, (shine) thats why i need to buff it up, u saw my tails, its the same thing, looks hell of a lot shinier after its buffed up...
on a side note, i found this guy in Edm who does the 3m carbon fiber hood, roof's and trunks, he quoted me 200 for each, unless u have a sunroof or spoiler then 250 each... lemi know if anyone else wants it done maybe we can get a group rate! its an actual shop not just some random, soo im sure they warranty the work..

its V-tec dammit, not v-tech, its not a damn home phone lol
Well give your car an oil change, and check the engine codes, your engine light may not come on but it will still give the ECU a code for you to dianose. What makes you think the v-tec isnt kicking in? Do you not hear the cross over at 5800? OR 6800? RPM's? I cant remember what mine used to cross over at.
Have you washed your engine bay recently? Check to see if the connector to the solenoid has come loose, if it isnt, check resistance with a multimeter, i believe it should be in between 13-15 ohms if it is working correctly.

LOL sorry, yes V-Tec!! haha and no i don't hear the cross over anymore, my "mant req'd" light comes on when i start the car up, and engine light has been on ever since i put my cai in.. also no i haven't washed the engine in a while, and u lost me on where to check with a multimeter :$ anyone wanna help me on testing it out? in know u can't Sanjay
#1049
Ya sorry bud, I'd love to help. Maybe in a few weeks.
The check engine lights been on since you put in a cai? Thats not good, mine didn't. Check your codes with an OBD II reader, if you know any buddies at a mr. lube or something, they can do that for you. The maint required light is just for your oil changes..follow this to turn that light off for 5000km

Make sure the headlights are off, otherwise it won't work. (Don't ask me why, I just know that this is the way it worked for me!)
Hold down the "trip reset" button while turning the ignition switch to "ON" (but don't start the car). Continue holding the button until you see the display change to +/- °F increments, then quickly let go before the +/- °F value changes.
This will keep the "Maintenance" light off for another 8,000 miles.

ok sweet, i'll try that in the morning if i remember, and yeah i got a buddy who works at cdn tire, he's got a reader, some emissions codes, but my exhaust guy said it was giving some odd codes 2 weeks ago.. i'll get my other buddy to check it out if he's not being a lazy ass... thanks for the help
#1051
If you are committed to keeping your car in good condition, you will remember to do that in the AM, good sir. Once you find out the code's, post them up on here, so we can get an incite on whats going on with your car!

@Sanjay - Lol no kidding I didn't realize there are so many white TL's on this thread. We'll add our blue color next time
@Ryan - Nice nice I was contemplating getting the Optimum Opti-Seal but decided to try out the GTechniq C2 instead since it is the exact same application. Mainly I wanted to experiment with the new "nano" technology. See what all the hype is about. I plan on topping my car with some BFWD & BF Midnight Sun Wax after my proper detail. I want my paint shine for the few months of summer we have lol.
@Arthur - Indeed if you're ever in the northside and need something done with tires, Ed is definitely the man to go to. I've gone to him several times and he has never disappointed.

I'm a thrill seeker in my
I think you level up based on how much you post and how many times you are thanked. So I say, let's all thank each other for every post in here haha.
Vin: Nothing wrong with experimenting, I gave Opti-Seal a try after seeing how highly recommended it is by the detailer who inspired my detailing OCD. I've heard fantastic things about BFWD as well. I'd like to try it. I'm actually impressed with the p21s; it truly does provide a phenomenal shine (although it doesn't last long). I hadn't tried it before but had it sitting around from a bundle I got 2 years ago haha. Opti-Seal is so easy to apply and cures in about 20 minutes, so it's easy to apply multiple coats then top it with a nice wax for a deep shine. Also Opti-Seal lasts for months so your little $30 8oz bottle goes a long way.
I'm pumped for the next meet. With Darkness and Vin showing up we'll be able to even out the blue to white ratio. Me and Raj were the only ones reppin' some real color at the meet on Saturday. Sorry Myron, as sexy as your silver 3G is, silver is still a shade between white and black to me haha.
Bee tee dub: Knowing this thread exists makes me happy. So much easier to keep in touch with all of you awesome Edmonton guys

Sweet, another blue tl! Loving the EDFC.
For a second I thought you were boosted with that red thing sticking out in the rear, for some reason, thought it was a wastegate.
Very busy engine bay though.
Arthur, I asked if he would shit to canada...his response "i dont know, i think it might be expensive"
That right there shows me he's too damn lazy to take initiative for a sale. Oh well, his loss?

2N10, wow that thing must be quick and fun. That's another blue TL. There are four now. lol. There are four whites too. :P
Sanjay, oh well. Too bad for him, it's just a matter of asking your postal code and giving you a shipping quote.

Lol did this point system start yesterday? I don't see any benefit in having these things, leads to a bunch of unnecessary bitching online. It reminds me of the reputation system on 780tuners, it's such a joke.
@Ryan - Yeah I got the GTechniq C2 since it has a durability rating of 6-8 months based on one application. I'm interested to see if it can actually last that long since it would be perfect for our winters. Plus the C2 cost just a bit more than the Opti-Seal. My LSP lasts a good 3-4 months at most in the winter and after that it's open to bashing from the elements. My little experiment will determine my LSP for next winter lol.

Yeah Myron mentioned he got a pair somewhere in the southside.
Here's a story my brother told me the other day. I went on vacation last week and didn't take my car with me. It has been sitting in the garage and apparently my dad decided he was going to take it to work the day before yesterday. I'm fine with this but it seems like he forgot how to use my car from when the last time I showed him. He told my brother that on his way back from work, it seemed to drive really slow and it kept revving to 6-7k. It wasn't picking up much speed and acting up. As I read this in horror, I had to facepalm. My dad didn't realize he popped the gear into sport mode when he left work and left it that way the entire time. No shifts were made.
I'm hoping this didn't have any ill effects on my car except killing gas and warming my engine a bit beyond its usual. I've told my brother to show my dad how to use my car in the mean time. As for when I get home, I'll have to go step-by-step to make sure he never puts it in sport mode again. Poor car...

It's about 11km, so 20 min of driving. Are you free this Saturday? If I don't detail we can meet up so you can get the lights.
