I'M BACK!!

Hey guys, you may have seen some of my posts earlier on in this thread. I still have my CL, however it's currently up for sale. But I just upgraded to a 2008 RL-Aspec. A serious improvement in comfort and luxury. I will be posting pictures soon... hopefully. Work has been pretty hectic lately.

Just to let you guys know, I've been around this site for several years now and have experience with the 2nd gen CL (lots), TL, MDX and now the 2nd gen RL. I also used to work for a few of the audio shops around town, including Visions and Audio Concepts. I have a pretty good knowledge of how the electronics in most Honda/Acura vehicles work and some of the quirky things they do as well. Currently I'm not working for any shop but am trying to get my own deal going as a personal project outside of my day job.

I'm also associated with a few of the local car clubs in town so if anyone wants to get an Azine/Acura group rolling to some of the meets that happen around town I would be more than down.

Glad to be back in a car that is worth talking about.

Silver hill for sure! I've had tons of work done there and once during a conversation with the service manager I was told that they do most of the major warranty work and repairs for western Canada.

Hey, I'm in Calgary too! Just got my 05 TL last month and starting to do a bit of light modding. Ordered custom tails from Bruce recently. Next up is
- stripping and powdercoating my aspec rims
- koni yellows, but not sure what springs to get
- looking at tanabe touring medallion catback + injen CAI system

Also, I had my eye on a 2007 TL type s at silverhill acura that had 32000 km on it..but someone bought it for 27k! Maybe we'll get a new aziner here soon

BTW know of any place to install some mods like shocks/springs? I don't have much time on my hands and my buddy's shop charges dealership like prices..

 

not much of a buddy if he chargers you like that...

DIY when you manage to get time, its pretty simply, just make sure you grease everything up the day before.
nothing more frustrating than not being able to undo a bolt lol

Just out of curiosity, what does everyone here do for work? With the economy being the way it is right now I feel like it's a relevant topic.

Myself - I work for a petroleum services company (Core Labs) and run my own audio install business on the side. I've considered going back to my uni job part time in case my O&G job shits the bed like so many others.

Hi guys! Just found this thread. First time Acura owner, basically as of today. Put my deposit down on the new 2016 Acura RDX Tech package from Silverhill. They are pretty awesome there and were great to deal with! Fingers crossed my Elantra sells fast so that I can pick up my Acura and get to driving it! I'm so excited! Nice to find a Calgary group as well

 

hey does anyone have a good idea how to unload a car that has the interior removed, the engine and transmission removed and some other odds and ends? My CL had tranny issues so I bought an entire car and parted out a lot of the car (2002 ACURA TL) after installing the transmission (which works awesome), the fog lights (custom cutting of the bumper got them to fit) and little minor parts. I have a few things still I'm trying to sell and trying to get rid of whats left. Any ideas?

I'm in Calgary as well, 2004 TL
Actually my DRL light is not working right now..so after a few searches online, I found out it's probably the drl module that needs a resouder.
Any of you guys had this problem? I don't even know where the module is, looks like it's not under the dash, I have checked both drivers and passengers side.

I just picked up a 08 TL-S manual in pearl white. Looking fwd to doing some mods to her. Had many cars since i made this account with my tsx.. surprised its still active lol. Theres a Alberta honda/Acura group on fb my buddy made which has been doing really well with a great bunch of ppl. I'll get the link and post it up.
