Your Input Wanted!
I was approached today, by a good friend of mind, and was asked if I wanted to expand my part-time detailing biz with him doing mobile details. I've built what I have thus far on quality and not quantity, and have never really viewed mobile detailing as something you could do a quality job on. I also am concerned about my name being on something that I may not physically touch since I would be busy with details at my home. What are you guys/gals thoughts on this?

The LAST thing you want to do is lose customers that are accustomed to your level of work.

+4....I personally never done "mobile" detailing, however I do go to customers homes/work if needed(TIME is not first priority in these cases)
I can't have a customer pull up in a parking lot and have them wait for 2-3 hours while i detail their vehicles. I never rush, no matter the job.
Others have done it and have been succesful, most probably do crappy jobs. Not saying anything is wrong with being mobile, just that it would take a whole lot more supplies because you shouldn't reuse that same towels/pads for different jobs.
That being said, if your busy enough stay were you are. If you have the time, maybe try the mobile thing. I would prefer quality detailing anyday. Friendships can turn into hardships if things didn't work out. GL

Thanks for the input! I had a long talk with my wife last night about it, and she said basically the same thing you guys have said. I will stay doing what i'm doing and decline the offer. Again thanks very much!
