window tinting question: brand of tint

I'm in Houston and basically there are several choices....
3M, Medito (or was it Medeco)??, Lumar etc....

Which one is better to use? I hard Lumar is the best but expensive. The shop said I can go with Medito (better than 3M). The high quality (life time warranty) Medito will be the same quality as Lumar but less $$$.

What do you guys think? I just want to do it right (and save $$ if I can) but trying to avoid cheap tint that would fade/peel or wahtever on me years down the road. Also, what is a reasonable price to pay for a tint job? thx.

I dont know about tint film brands but most professional places use good tint. Ask them what brand they use. Prices can range from $50-$80 per window.

I tint windows at Alta Mere in Plano Texas. We use Llumar. I think its the best, of course you get what you pay for. Madicco is probably the second best. Steer very very clear of 3m

3m is a dyed film. You will be lucky if it doesnt turn purple in 6 months to a year.

I would take Hanzie's word for it that the 3M is dyed. If you don't trust him, do some research.

As for the best tints, LLumar is the best. I have heard great things about Sunguard too. I have Formula 1 tint on my car. It is made by the same people who make LLumar.

I have never heard of Maddico until this thread.
