White specks

Washing car today, I noticed an abundance of white specks. What they look like and probably are are little dried wax pellets. Sometimes they are sort of stuck and take some pretty firm wiping to get off.

I have seen them frequently soon after waxing. In this case, however, its been two or three weeks since waxing. Granted, the once a month waxings are more than I have ever done before, but I have never seen these to this degree.

Does this mean I'm applying too heavy or not buffing well enough? Or should I just forget about it and wipe em up as they appear?

Thanks for input.

Sounds like the residue of your wax. What type of polish and wax are you using? And are you removing wax with a good quality micro fiber cloth? A good MF cloth will usually not leave behind any residue.

Meguiar's Gold Class. No polish yet.

Using 100% cotton towel. Im pretty sure I get all the wax buffed off, with the exception of places like under door handles, where unbuffed spots seem to persist despite my efforts at wax time to get under there and get it off. I kind of suspect that the specks are coming from there (as when I "re buff" after wash or as a result of the wash itself).

Just kind of odd.

Thanks

It usually is an indication of buffing too lightly. I'm not saying you should hard-press the car as if you're flattening, say, a steel, but you should do it effectively and strong enough to clear the dried wax, of course, with the proper material.
