What do you use to clean your wheels?

Anyone use something like Meguiar's Hot Rims or a product similar to it? I was thinking of using it, but I didn't know if it would hurt the clear coat on the rims. What do you guys use to clean them?

Eagle One A2Z Wheel Cleaner

The A2Z really does a good job, IMO. And it's more readily available than EF, which is why I bought it. I really wish I could buy the EF locally. I'd love to try it out because I've heard good things about it. I've used the A2Z successfully to clean up the engine bay as well.

You people pay extra for wheel cleaner? :shakehd: Just use Zaino wash and then treat your tires with a treatment of polish/z2 and z6 and you are all set. I used to spend extra for wheel cleaner until i realized i could just use soap and water. Zaino will repell brake dust.

I do use just soap and water for the outside part of the wheel. The only time I use wheel cleaner is when I'm cleaning the inside of the wheel (wheels off the car) or when I have to clear a real dirty tire. Soap and water is definitely the safest and cheapest way to do it! I keep forgetting to wax my wheels!!! Maybe this weekend I'll finally remember!

while Zapata has a point - sometimes you just need something to do the ugly cleaning . . . .

i too zaino my rims - very nicely chromed with 6 swirling spokes, but there are times when i have neglected them . . .
if you look at the pic in my sig line - you may admire them

Mine isn't just for wheels. I use it for any heavy duty cleaning, like wheel wells, under the side skirts on my body kit. :o Oops you guys wouldn't know anything about that.

I usually just use soap and water with the lamb's wool sponge and a toothbrush to clean in the tight spots. I always do the wheels last so any grime I get off the wheels doesn't get on the paint. :o

However, sometimes I end up polishing it with Sullivan's Chrome Cleaner...which I also use on the exhaust pipes. Works wonderful...just put some on a damp towel and then wipe off when dry. I use Black Magic tire spray to give my tires a wet look, which usually lasts a week in dry weather, but tends to wash off if there's a period of rain for two or more days.

I just use car wash soap and then wax it w/ the cheapest wax I have.
I put a shitload of wax on the rims, this helps keep the brakedust from gunking on also makes it easier to clean next time.
