Water spots WTH

I just washed and waxed my car yesterday and it was in pristine condition. It rained all of today and now water spots are all over the car. The body is STAINED with them and the roof. They wipe off but I am wondering how can this happen?

The car was completley free of water spots yesterday afternoon but now its ugly as hell.

I wont be able to wash it until Friday. Can anyone help me? What can I do to avoid this? Even the windows are stained with waterspots. And yesterday they were fine ( I went on a drive after washing).

If they wipe off thats normal if it rains ... dust settles on the car .. it rains .. the drops collect the dust and as they dry they leave the dust prints.

No way to avoid it .

Rain also have particulate in it that it collects on the way down.

Plus with us going into the pollen season the combination of rain and pollen will definitely leave water spots because the rain drops can't run off being they're being held on due to the pollen.

I see but why the other car don't have such a nasty problem? We have a camry that was last washed 3 years ago. It always sits outside but it never has any waterspots after the rain.

Will it cause any problem if I leave the spots on until Friday? I heard that a heavy rain also gets rid of them I think its supposed to rain heavily tomorrow.

Since the color is a dark gray my TL looks bad . I should have not taken the car today.

The Camry also doesn't have any "wax" on it either, so spots wouldn't be a problem.

There will be no harm to your car if it has to wait until Friday, for a re-wash. Just keep it protected.
