tire shine help

i had a question about tire shine, ill give my 01 cl-s tires a good claning and i finish the tires off with mequiars hot shine. ill spray it on and wipe it around with the tire applicator, and let it sit for like 10 min then go back with a rag and dab around any of the spots that might look to thick and wet. and then i let it sit for like another hour or so. Even though the bottle says to just let it sit for 10 min.. But after it even looks and fells pretty dry to the touch ill drive around (not through any water) and look at the side of my car and there will be the little tire shine marks of where you could see it flew off, like i went through a puddle or something.

i was wondering if this is normal, cuz i know it's not, it does it on my parents cars too... im thinkin its just my technique. any tips or suggestions on how to keep it on the tires?

I quit using the Megs because of that reason and started using PB Bold n Bright. It's more of a glossy/matte finish which gives it a more natural look instead of a bright shiny finish. BnB dries to the touch, not sticky or greasy and because it's water based can be diluted.

So far I like the Meg gel tire dressing, they are sticky and seem to last longer than other ones I've tried. I haven't tried PB's BB yet so I don't know about that.

You may just be applying too much. I do that sometimes with Four Stars Gel, which is kind of thick. And I get the same results. Its called product sling......

i have tried a lot of products out there and honestly I always go back to armor all. It is nice and shiny and seems to last a long time unless it rains of course and I haven't come across any products that can withstand a few days of shitty new england weather.

PB BB stands for Poorboy's BoldnBright.

Gel dressing are thicker and less likely to slip into the cracks between the tire and wheel.

Me too and I've been in the detailing business. The only thing I like better is anything 3M produces. I don't really care much for super shiney tires though. One thing that helps is NOT spraying it directly ON the tires. Get your self something to spray it on, then wipe it on the tire evenly. My

wheel cleaner

i use the same product but i just spray it on and don't use the applicator. i just do an overkill on the spray, i just take my time and do it as evenly on the tire as possible. it ends up usually lasting at least a week or so, depending on weather and so forth.
