Tire Shine

I am looking for a good over the shelf tire shine but not like one that is super glossy. Here is a picture so you know what I'm going for.

Yeah, I hate the stuff that is super glossy. makes your car look fake and slick.

I use a brand(which i forgot the name of) that doesnt give me that super shiny glossy look.
when i get home, i can give you more info.

I know you said over the shelf but one of the detailing vendors on here sells this stuff called Tuff Shine that gives you the kind of application you're looking for. Plus it bonds to the tire so it ends up lasting a lot longer and through all sorts of weather. It's been a while since I purchased detailing products from him so I can't seem to remember his screen name. Maybe somebody else will reply and know who I'm talking about or maybe he will himself.

I've used a lot, and you can't get better than this stuff for over the counter, not too shiny, and lasts for weeks/months.

Here's a shot of my tires with it on, as you can see, it's rather matte, and not super shiny

You are talking about "exceldetail" (www.westcoastdetailsupply.com)

I totally agree with Tuf Shine. Works very well and you can get the exact shine you are looking for with it. Here is a review I did using it...

https://acurazine.com/forums/wash-wax-23/my-amateur-review-tuf-shine-tire-appearance-kit-778218/

OTC...I used the Megs Endurance High Gloss before I went with Tuf Shine. I think it works very well too, but it did get a little messy with me though. Don't forget to make sure your tires are cleaned before applying any tire shine. Otherwise it will not last as long as it could.

I second the Meguiars product. Reasonable cost, easy to apply and lasts forever, with no excessive shine. Best stuff I've ever used.

Yeah I think that's what you're looking for "TufShine". I've used it and it works well. You need to make sure you wipe off any excess that gets on your rims immediately as it can be tough to get off once it dries - yes, it bonds that well!

I like the Megs stuff. After I apply it, if Im going to drive the car within the next 12 hours I will lightly run a rag over the surface to pick up any of the left over tire shine. Otherwise, it ends up on my fenders.

I do want to try that Tuf Shine stuff though.

I use Mother's Tire and Rubber Cleaner, serves as both a cleaner and dressing, not shiny, does a good job, can't beat the price.

i have been using the armoral extreme tire shine in the bottle with the foam applicator...its the gel...its not too shiney, and last for a long time...i have tried just about every other over the counter product, and i would say this is about as good as it gets in the otc department....

I like my tires to look like I just picked the car up from the dealership....very well dressed, but not too shiney.

I've used lots of products-the latest I'm using is the Griot's Garage Tire Shine.

LOL, yes I do! I was young when it came out. I had every color and used the shit out of it. I wish I could go back in time and kick my own ass for using it. But anyway I use Poorboys natural look on my tires and sometime Black Magic matte finish. Both are water based and do not sling and give you that perfect black finish without looking greasy.

I prefer the " ghetto " shine and Meguir's Endurance is probably one of the best out there ......... and inexpensive too Just that it slings if you don't buff it off a bit after applying.

Try Poorboy's Bold n Bright if you don't want too glossy.

couple things determine tire shine:

1> Product
2> Tires themselves....

I have heard that some Continental tires are a bish to shine....

well for the product i use Black Magic and wipe it off so it mad moderate shine and last longer....

I was using this stuff too, but I actually think I like the Griot's stuff a little better.

I like the Black Magic aerosol, seems to have a durable semi gloss appearance.
