Tire cleaner?

What do you guys use to clean the old tire shine off your tires when you're washing your car? I've tried to use just the car soap and either a wash mitt or a brush but it doesn't work well and ruins the wash glove. Any recommendations for products/techniques? Will Simple Green work well or are there any dedicated products that work better?

Try Westley's Bleach White and stiff carpet brush. It'll get off all the old tire shine and actually leave the tires with a nice matte finish..ready for more tire gel.

i use the same method as washing the rest of my car, but i use either whats left of the wash in the bucket, or what i have been doing lately is using a different wash bucket for just the rims tires and wheel wells....i use an older sponge or mitt that was previously used for the car after i get a new one...i usually end up buying a new mitt twice a year or soo....i have plenty of old ones for this dirty task....

finally, never use the same sponge or mitt on your paint that you use on your wheels and tires...

I use my wheel cleaner, or all purpose cleaner. Most recently, I used Optimum Power Cleaner.
