Teaser - My towels

Oh wow that stinks that you have to keep them in your room. At least they won't freeze lol. Here during winters some of my stuff froze... Garage is not heated, but I did some insulation, and during last winter, it was a lot better and warmer.

I don't have AC in the unit (Actually the entire building has no AC), so if it gets to 100+ degrees during the summer, I put my temperature sensitive polishes in my wine cooler that I bought for my waxes, lol.

Here's a pic, a friend of my who's a fellow detailer has two of my waxes for testing
In this picture: AGHD, Victoria Chaos & Mayhem
Missing in the picture: Victoria Red Concour's, Dodo Juice Austintatious

I applied 3 coats of each on my car 6 months ago, neglected my car for the past 6 months (Washed it once a month), and it's still beading strong, paint is also still very slick.

Oh wow that's nice. I usually stick with Meguiars waxes, since they are cheap, but if you are saying it lasted you 6 months I shall give it a try. Usually during winter, NXT lasts around 1.5 months if not less (on door panes) but longer on hood/roof/trunk lid. Maybe because your weather is different, that is lasts so long? The longest I've got the was to last was 3.5 months, during summer.

I basically bought the cheap waxes off the 6 1/2 months durability list, lol. Vic's Chaos n Mayhem was a recommendation of other enthusiasts on detailing bliss.

If you cant view it, this is the list

OK guys, time has pasted, we have seen one of the coldest and longest periods of weather since 1986, apparently.....
Review, 12th January 2009:
The last review was start of Nov, and today was a huge task just to wash the horsebox, I used over 175 litres!
Test orignally started 30th June 2008. Reviews took place at 26th July, 1st Spet, 8th Oct and 1st Nov 2008.
After 6 and 1/2 months, the following waxes are still protecting the paintwork:
Autoglym Hi Def
Collinite 915 Marque D'Elegance
Nattys White & Blue
RaceGlaze 55
Swissvax Divine, Mystery, BoS and Concourso
Victoria Concours
Zymol Vintage and Glasur "
The test went from June 2008 to January 2009.

I remember reading that article a while back. I was going to buy Collinite 915 but was too expensive at that time when it just came out. Zymol is expensive too. I might try Victoria or Swissvax.
Thanks for that article

I never saw in that write up where the 845IW fell.
As far as I am concerned Klasse SG with 845IW on top is like kevlar for car paint. There may be other options, but I found what works for me on dark colors in 115 degree heat in the shade. Surface temps in the sun here get over 125 easy in the summer.

But since I detail cars on a regular basis, I need to find all around products that would work with pretty much everything, which is why I go through different polishes as time goes by.

Some people have told me that the sealants, polishes and compounds can be greatly affected as well...

Yeah, I know, I just figured someone in the north wouldn't believe me if I put 200 degrees... I have not actually checked, but it's not hard to get a 2nd degree burn from the exterior of a dark car in the summer here if it's sitting in the sun.
#64
Oh I know .. lol its going to be just over 80 here today .. and I been in Pheonix .. BTW it can get over 100 F here in the summer.
#65
lol, thanks
I put my menz po85rd in the fridge if temps get that high, normally on the label of a polish it'll tell you between what temps it needs to be stored in. everything I have other than the menz doesn't have that warning. Haven't had issues either.
Over 80? gee it's barely over 70 where I'm at
