Streaking when using QD or quick wax

When I use the QD or a quality quick wax I can see streaking after the area dries. Its darker in one area, and lighter in another. Am I using too much? when I wipe I use one microfiber for the first few passes, and then then another one for the last few passes. Any suggestions?

What conditions do you usually use your QD or quick wax? You may be using too much and/or the weather is affecting your application.

You may be applying too much, or there may be too much pollutants on the surface. I usually QD mine twice. QD'ing is very difficult to do perfect the first time. My 1st pass is a cleaning pass, and the second pass is for enhancement. They're pretty finicky products, which we expect a lot out of.

I have experienced streaking at times and usually caused by applying too much or on a hot surface or the wrong type of QD for the sealant under it.

I am with the detail guy, 1st past to clean second to enhance.. just make sure you have plenty of clean cloths so you aren't enhancing with a dirty one.

I've also noticed that once the cloth gets wet from using to much or the car not being dry that you will get streaks.

Car Color:Carbon Grey Perl

I detail the car indoors, and the car is never hot.

Two bucket wash with ONRS, then dry.

I spray about 2-3 squirts of QD/Quick wax on 1/2 of the hood. Then wipe with microfiber, and do a final wipe with a second micro fiber.

I use Meguiars Ultimate QD, or a quick wax(what ever mood im in) that i know is compatible for the sealant i have on the car. I have purchased both the Quick wax and sealant from a local professional detailer.

Which sealant is it ... just because it purchased form a detailer doesn't always mean its compatable .. For instance a lot of the QD sparays don't work well over Klasse SG ... but Sonus does.

I get my sealant from a place called Detail King(Google them, they have a online store). Its called STS3000. I have been very pleased with the quality of all there products.

Why would my towels causing streaking? They are washed between every use. And no...i do not use a fabric softener.

Wash with dawn - and air dry.

For QD - if I notice the MF is to damp I toss it asside. Even if you are being libral with the spray a damp MF will leave streaks. I usually go through 4 MF cleaning - then 4 MF to touch up. --- 1 MF per side...

I meant that for the microfibers when they are dirty. I'd NEVER wash a car with dawn....

handwash microfibers....
