which soap is better

I usually use Sonax Shampoo for my car, but can't find any. I can find Sonus Shampoo though. Are they one in the same? Is one better than the other? Anyone have any input to help me out. I am out of soap and need to get some more.

Sonax and Sonus are different brands. Sonus is Autopia's house brand. I'm sure Sonus is a fine product.

And, I think you'll find that all soaps are about the same. Meguairs NXT and Gold Class Shampoos are the equal of anything you can get mail order.

But, if you are really set on Sonax, here is a site to get it:

http://www.carcareonline.com/

If you have a Costco in your neighborhood, they usually have gallon sizes of Turtle Wax and other decent soaps for good prices.

So I call to order the Sonax, and none in the country. He tells me the P21S is just as good, and having used the wax and paint cleanser they have, I went ahead and got some ordered.
I asked him about the Klasse AIO and he said they stopped selling it cause another company in Florida bought it, or makes the product (??????). Basically he said they quit carrying it cause it is a shitty product now. Does anyone know more about that? I've never had problems with using Klasse, but all my products have been brought in from Germany.

Completely and total nonsense. I've been using AIO (and bought my current bottle fairly recently), and know many others who use it (or at least interact with many others who use it at Autopia). It was, and still is, a great product. There were rumors that Klasse had been sold and that the product was reformulated. But, several sources have debunked that.

And, yeah, P21S is probably just as good as Sonax, but then Meguiars NXT soap is just as good as either, and a lot cheaper.

Anyway, if you use P21S paint cleanser, you may not need AIO. The P21S product should be able to prep the paint on your car for a good sealent (like Klasse SG or Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection).

BTW, who told you that Klasse was reformulated? Was this information you got from the folk at the link I gave you? If so, I would consider them to be an unethical (or uninformed) vendor and not have anything to do with them again.

Here are good sites to get Klasse (and any other product you want):

www.autogeek.com
www.properautocare.com
www.premiumautocare.com
www.autopia-carcare.com/index.html

At autogeek and properautocare the discount code "detailcity" gets you 10% off.

at autopia, the discount code "SONUS" gets you 15% on many products.

if you need microfiber cloths, got to
www.pakshak.com and use the discount code "AUTOPIA".

cmf, I have serious concern about what you've heard regarding KLASSE. I've used their products for years and I absolutely love them. If they really have sold out and are now making an inferior product I'll be devistated. Guess I'll have to start using Pinnicle's products .

I've bought KLASSE product from http://www.concoursdirect.com/klasse.html and have had only good experiences ordering from them. Concours is still selling it as a "German" product. I hope the guys at carcareonline are just talking shit because they've lost their distribution rights or something like that.

I feel confident that is the case. Somebody posted that very rumor (that Klasse had been reformulated) at Autopia.org. The owner of Autopia, who I know to be a very reliable and informed individual, responded by saying that Klasse had not been reformulated in years. And, like I said, I've been using Klasse for the last year and have had great rsults. It is an excellent product.

Darth 62-- I too have been using Klasse, but was caught off guard by the guy at carcareonline. Just going by what he said, he stopped receiving Klasse because it's not made in Germany anymore, he never said anything about losing the ability to sell the product. Then again, why would he tell me that.
I ordered a P21S kit (has all kinds of stuff included) at a pretty good price, or so I think. Either way, I needed soap and P21S caranuba wax, so that's why I got it. I figured I'd give it a shot, since it also included the P21S paintcleanser.
Does the paintcleanser take place of both the AIO and SG made by Klasse? Do you think the results will be just as good, better/ worse than Klasse?
Additionally, thanks for the websites, now I have something to research more for the best products.

I hate to say it, but the kit really isn't a great deal (not bad mind you, but not great). There is absolutely no difference between PS21 and S100. The same company makes both. They badge PS21 as a car was, and sell it for $32.00. S100 is the same product in a different contained and is called motorcycle wax and it sells for $15. Neither is any better than Meguiars #16 Paste Wax, which sells for $12.

Anyway, the paint cleaner has the cleaning action of AIO. It does not offer any protection. So, you'd still want to use an SG like product.

Aio has no protection? Or are you talking about the GEPC? AIO on its own stands as a great source of acrylic protection. Its a cleaner wax with very mild abrasives. It can be used on its own or topped with SG.

Correctomundo. The no protection comment was about GEPEC.

AIO does offer protection, but the protection is not long lasting. If you want durability, you need to add a layer of SG or UPP.

BTW, what is your handle over at Autopia (I'm "The Uncle")?

To some saying UPP could be confusing because Einszettes makes a very abrasive paint polish called "Ultra Paint Polish" which is in the yellow can. But the UPP in question here is actually Four Star's brand of a polymor paint sealant in their "premium" line called Ultimate Paint Protection, or to the detailing community its called "PUPP". It can be used on its own but the chemical bonding reaction between the PUPP and the Klasse twins is nothing short of amazing. After a good paint prep apply the Klasse AIO, then a layer of SG. A week later or after next wash apply another layer of SG. Then after the thrid wash apply a layer of PUPP. The SG must be allowed to "cure" before the layers of PUPP are applied. Once the PUPP is on, the car will look and feel like satin. Then all that is needed is periodic layers of the PUPP about once a month or when the car begins to loose its slickness.

also should note, NXT car wash has a special chemical reaction in it, that causes all dirt and grim to fall to the bottom instead of floating in the bucket
