Should I let West Chester dealer wax my new car before pickup?

Hey Guys, I'm picking up my '05 TSX this week, should I allow the dealer to wax it for me or tell them not to do that? The dealership is West Chester Acura, PA.

Isn't this question kind of like asking - if you should ask a friend to shag your new girlfriend first, or should you?

I doubt the dealer is going to put as much loving care into their wax job as you would.

Therein lies the answer.

I agree. They'll probably end up cleaning it w/ rags that have been laying in a gravel bed and mess up the paint. I don't even have dealerships detail my car when I pick it up new. I take it as is and do it all myself.

Pass on the wash unless you really enjoy removing swirl marks off a brand new car

Well I'm bitting the bullet and letting them wax it, main reason being, I don't have a place to wax it myself right away, and I rather have it waxed driving off the lot than not having protection for 2 weeks. Planning on putting either Klausse or Zaino on it in Februray when the wax wears off.

I would invest in a PC or some other DAP while you are waiting on that wax to wear off. Good luck.

Ok, i've been screwed as much as the next guy by dealers, but, imho, when i picked up my car, it was beautifully detailed...And, gasp, I actually trust my dealer to do a good job, at least with cleaning.....But then again, I may be very wrong, just wanted to give my .02
