Sealants are kinda hard to find.. but if you have a carquest or a checker store maybe that might be your solution.. otherwise pat's store might provide you with some more options.

Whatever you're currently using should work . . . there are a number of sealants available and one of the forum favs is FS UPP.

For just painted, you actually DONT want to seal it up. The gases need to escape, this is called outgasing. And any deprivation could be detrimental down the line. There are a few products that allow paint to breathe. The one off the top of my head is Megs #81. In all honesty, dont do anything for 30-45 days. You will be fine.......

Well, maybe Im not understanding your question. Sealants, as we refer to them are products that protect the surface, as the way it currently appears. Polishes on the other hand are products (when used properly) hat have the ability to enhance and correct flaws in the paint.

If he just painted the grill, I would imagine he wants to protect it. Not correct it.

Thats how I precieve his statement as.

Was this done by a paint & body shop or DIY? Hopefully I get this right. Vehicles have a basecoat, usually color of the car. A clearcoat (clear paint) is sprayed over the basecoat to give a shine and provide protection. As Patrick stated, sealants provide surface protection and polishes correct/remove surface defects as well as a clean surface for the sealant to bond.

Plus an anticorrosion coating at the metal.
