Scuffed Rim - can this be fixed? (Pics)
Hello,
Well, I managed to scuff my rim while at the ATM drive thru tonight. I'm so incredibly pissed at myself. The damage is very minor, but nontheless, it's still annoying me. I'm super anal, so I'd really like to get this fixed, or at least make it not noticeable
Also, if there is a little curb rash, will this eventually peel and make the whole rim look like crap? I've never done this before, so I wasn't sure if the OEM Acura TSX rim's would start hardcore peeling?
Lastly, I'm going to attach 2 photos. As you can tell, it's super small. Should I just leave it, or attempt to repair/get it repaired? It's about 2 inches long.
Thanks guys!

Honestly, bro, I know it hurts to scuff the shoes, but that scratch you took a pic off...is absolutely nothing. You don't want to spend money fixing that. It's hardly noticeable. In the first pic you posted, you can't even tell. You can only see it in the close-up.
You can get rims fixed for ~$80. Some places do good jobs. But, after a while, there's a chance that the clearcoat/paint might start peeling.
IMHO, it's not worth it to try and fix that. Save your $$.

Yeah, I was more or less not necessarily planning on getting it professionally fixed - at least not for $80, but I was wondering if there was something like a touch-up pen, or something that I could do to make it a little bit better looking?
Thanks much!

If your going to leave it go to the auto store and get a bottle of the brush on clear coat and wipe the area down with rubbing alcohol then brush in a couple of layers of the clear just to seal it off. If your patient it won't show.

I'd honestly wait till you get a couple more of those nicks before going out to fix it. It's almost guaranteed that sooner or later, you'll curb the wheel. Might as well wait and make it worth your money.

I think it's definitely DIY-able.

Just out of curiosity, what will the clear coat do? Just keep it from peeling/chipping more? Will this eventually start to rust and or peel a lot more?
