Removing Stoneguard
Removing Stoneguard
Stone guard is on my CL from previous owner, makes the front bumper look really cheap, i also think it is on the back bumper, how do you remove it??????? it has started to peel, i need help asap
As noone else has jumped in, I'll throw my thoughts in... I'd say if you can, park in the sun for a while and go get a hair dryer... As the edges are peeling already, give it a little heat from the dryer and peel away. I would think it would come off in one big sheet. You'll then need to remove any remaining glue using various and sundry techniques outlined here on the forum for removing adhesives and the like on you car...
Sounds plausible to me... This is what I would do, let me put it that way.

try some 3M Adhesive remover on an edge and once you get it going, you can peel the whole sheet off. The remaining glue that is left over, just spray the 3M adhesive remover on it, let it sit 15 seconds and then wipe with a towel (you'll throw away that towel afterwards or use strong paper towels.
If you have oem paint, none of it should be pulled off on removal but be careful if the bumpers have been painted prior to the stonegard.
