Removing fingerprint ink - please help!
Hey guys,
I had to go to the local PD this morning to get have fingerprints taken for my job. Anyway, I placed the fingerprint card on my leather seat (07 TSX) face-up, but I didn't realize that some ink had gotten onto the back for the card. Now, I have a little bit of ink transfer, and I'm not sure how to remove this.
First of all, does anyone know if this CAN be removed? I'm sure it's pretty good ink if it's used at a PD.
Second of all, what are my options as far as removing this goes? Is this stuff easier than pen ink to remove?
Thanks!
Jeff

Do a google search for Ink removers there are a ton of em out there. Try the woolite, also try a nice furniture store that sells leather furniture, they will prob sell an ink remover as well as some car dealerships as stated

Removing ink stains from aniline leather.
The ink used by most police departments for finger prints is very similar to that used for printers (a very dense water-soluable black powdered ink)
Sadly the prognosis on ink stains or colour transfer on leather is not good; as the stain permeates the leather and dyes it, and for this reason it is not easily released, especially if it has been allowed to set. Aniline leathers are absorbent, so an ink stain will permeate the leather hide, dyeing it, making it almost impossible to remove.
Hairspray contains solvents and should not be used; as they dilute the stain and act as a carrier system to permeate the covering, using household cleaners will usually exasperate the problem
Leather Master's Strong Effect Cleaner - (A-Aniline / Non-Coated) (P-Protected / Coated) Leather Master's "Strong Cleaner" is arguably the most effective leather cleaner on the market.
