Noooooo!
For those of you trying to get into the perfecting of black cars and wonder why the people on here are so adamant about NOT having the dealer wash it, I have unfortunate proof of concept. While I was out of town, my dad took his RL in for an oil change and remembered far too late to tell them not to wash it.
Free swirls!!! Yay! This is the damage just ONE dealership courtesy wash will do to a car that was damn near swirl-free before.

Doesn't matter where he took it .. they are pretty well all the same ..
Just like this dealer that told me he didn't need my services detailing some of the nicer stuff he might get on the lot .. his guy is as good as he needs .
Then he brought me this looking for a "deal" cuz it might lead to more business... the deal he got was my reg price & 50% . The 50% was to cover the insult earlier. His guy that was "as good as he needs " did this to a Ford SUV with about 5000 miles on it.

Well folks....the old girl is back to her shiny self. It is dark now (obviously...10:20 PM) and the weather's been crappy all day but she is officially de-swirled and sporting a coat of 4-star UPP. She looks hot!
Weather is supposed to improve (operative word: supposed) tomorrow so if that does turn out to be the case, I'll be taking her out to get some artsy shots and then a full write-up will be posted.

They did the same thing to my gf's CR-V before she bought it, even after I told them not to touch it

Ouch. Poor SUV.
Dealerships are not designed for proper auto detailing. The time it really takes for a detail and the amount of money charged does not match.
When I take my car to the dealership I do the following:

When I take my car to the dealership I do the following:
- I tape a sign on the drivers window: "DO NOT WASH!!!"
- I tell the service advisor that I "Absolutely" do not want the car washed.
- I repeat step 2. if the service advisor does not tell me that the dealership no longer washes customers cars unless they request it.
- All the service advisors and sales guys know my car and do not want to hear my wife if they screw up. My wife works for 2 Honda and 2 Acura stores.
