New car for clay bar

Recently bought an 08 WDP TLS and it has been a month since i bought it and i already wash/wax my car couple times, but now looking through the clay bar posts, i think im going to try the meg's clay bar on my car, question is do i need to remove the wax that i apply to the car in order to do the clay? would a simple wash with meg's gold class takes it off(i don't think so)?

Thank You.

You don't need to remove the wax, as when you clay it will pull the wax off, so you WILL have to reseal.

^ Polish then wax.

If you polish after you wax, you're going to end up removing the wax...... unless that's what you want to do.

Also, you really don't need to wash after claying. The washing would be more beneficial after the polishing.

Here's what I'd do:

Wash
Dry
Clay
Polish
Wash
Wax / Seal

Do you really need to polish a brand spanking new car or that is something you would do after claying the car? i mean waxing it makes sense, it puts a protection coat on the clear coat.

If the car is swirl/scratch/mar free, then no... the polishing isn't necessary. But then again, if you use a fine polish, it could help make the paint pop a little more than if you didn't polish it.

My steps are;

1) wash
2) Dry
3) Clay
4) Polish
5) PoliSeal or AIO product or 50/50 IPA/water wipedown ( to clean the paint for the sealant base )
6) Sealant.

There are various types of protection. Sealants are usually referred to as synthetics, a.k.a. polymer protectants i.e. UPP, NuFinish, NXT, Glanz Wax, OptiSeal. Waxes on the other hand are natural Carnauba products, like Gold Class, Mothers Pure Carnauba Wax, actually anything that isnt synthetic, and contains a majority of Carnauba, is usually referred to as a "wax". There are also many products which contain a mixture of both, like Optimum Spray Wax, Duragloss Aqua Wax just to name a couple. Synthetics are by far more durable, then the 50/50's, then Nubas. Expect twice the durability of a Nuba, with a sealant (synthetic). Some folks will actually use a polymer as a base, then top with a Nuba for even more protection. I say if your putting on two layers, use two synthetics!

Also on the bottle of wax it came with the application pad, but i somehow lost it, it is ok to apply wax on a microfiber tower and put it on the car and use another clean one to take it off?

08, your really better off using a foam app. Take a moment and maybe run to a Pep Boys or Napa Auto, something along that line, and find some 4" foam apps. Less waste, and just easier to apply.

If Iwant to use a carnuba based wax on top of a NXT 2.0 sealant for a wetter look(subjective to opinion, but I wanna try it regardlesss), do I need to make sure that the carnuba wax has absolutely no cleaners in it? If a wax does have cleaners, wouldnt it affect/strip the sealent that you just applied? If so, what brand/s of non-cleaner carnuba wax would you recommend? Thanks!

You dont have to, but its better to use a non cleaning type Nuba. Usually anything in liquid state will have some sort of solvent in it, which in essence, cleans. Most paste waxes dont have cleaners, but they do make cleaner/waxes, in paste form. Just look carefully at the label when shopping. S100, P21s, Mothers and Megs all have Pure Nuba paste waxes available.
