My TL-S after 1 year

Here are some pictures of my TL-S after having it for 1 year. My wife tells me I am crazy that I wash and wax it so much. I have washed it 28 times in the past year and have waxed it 11 times and used a clay bar 2 times. These pictures are after using Zaino car wash and Zaino Z-CS. I have used Zaino products since I have owned the car.

Great job of keeping that paint pretty flawless
Now if only most car owners cared half as much as you do.

Wow, its sure clean looking!
Quick question, why wax so much? Is it to retain slickness/beading? Or are you anal like the majority of us and just have nothing BETTER to do?

Wow that car looks great! I don't think you have to wax that often but if it makes you happy, go for it! Just be sure you do a paint cleansing wash or IPA wipedown to ensure proper adhesion.

I guess I am anal and I have nothing better to do. The wife goes to the gym and I am out washing and waxing the car. I wash my car (and wax once a month) the 1st and 3rd Saturday and her car on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. I am washing a car every week. In between I used Zaino Z-6 to keep the car looking good.

My wife tells me that I am crazy but I have never heard her complain that her car is dirty. People at her work ask her how much she spends getting her car cleaned so much. She just tells them that I am crazy and clean it all the time. I even have her co-workers asking me for tips on how to keep a car so clean. I think I am going to start detailing cars on the side to make a little extra cash.

I love cleaning my car and having the sense of accomplishment once it is all finished and looking good.

Here are some pictures of my old car before I sold it. It was 8 years old and it still looked like new.

Mike, your Type S looks awesome. I play hockey (I'm a goaltender). The finish on the doors look like ice-they look like I could skate on them.

I'm sure that whomever you are buying all that Zaino from is happy that you are that anal about a clean car. My wife would kill me if I tried to wash the car every weekend, start blaming me for loving the car more than her, you know that crazy talk women have, LOL.

Thanks, funny that you mention that. I worked in an ice arena for 9 years and played hockey for 12 years. I used to drive the Zamboni and we would take our cars on the ice after cleaning them all up and take pictures. Here are some pictures of my old Focus with my co-workers cars.

lol, I think the only thing I can find wrong with the focus is that the black trim needed some black wow, sorry, LOL. The car was perfect, but that is just me, over analyzing everything.

No gloves, just cleaned the interior every week. I never let anyone eat or drink in the car as well.

I put some back to black on all the trim before I sold it.

I sold the car for $6,500 after 8 years and 90k miles. I think that was pretty good considering I paid around $13,000 when it was new. It did have a lot of mods to it but I was not expecting to get any money back on those.

Mike, those are awesome pictures of your cars on the ice!!! That is soooo funny-I can't believe it. Is that the practice facility for the Bruins? I obviously noticed the logo at center ice.

I would have to say that $6,500 for that car is awesome, I wish my last car got half of what the original purchase price was when I got rid of it.

No, its not the practice facility for the Bruins. I was the Bowie Ice Arena in Bowie Maryland. The local team was the Bowie Bruins.

That is one of the cleanest TL's I have ever seen. Nice work! You have a great eye for the details!

i would say its pretty easy work to keep a car looking brand new when you drive it 10k miles a year...try driving a car 20 or 30k miles a year and see what you come up with....looks good none the less....
