Mr. Clean Auto-Dry Carwash Kit
Mr. Clean Auto-Dry Carwash Kit
Has anyone tried this yet? The commercial made me want to try it, but i'm somewhat skeptical.

For cleaning it works pretty good and I will admit, when it rained the water does bead right up. The "drying" is a little exaggerated, but it does make it easier if you then finish up w/ a blade or towel.
Plus, it has a 1yr guarantee so you can get your money back if you don't like it.

If you car has more than light dust on it you will still have to use a brush or mit to clean the car. The spray itself, just like a carwash, will not get all the grime off.
It also seemed to leave some kind of film on my car when I tried it.
SoCal has really hard water so maybe that has something to do with it. And mine seemed to literally eat those filter cartridges.

anyone else wana help me make my decision?
so far, i aint buying it.
DesiChoice from Vancouver likes the product. I signed up for a coupon so i'll try it and let you guys know.
I'm sure our driving and parking conditions may affect the outcome of this product. ie: parking in garage, driving twice a week.
do u guys think it would be ideal to do this:
1. mr. clean to rinse and wash car
2. waterblace to quickly wipe off excess water
3. wax with macguire's
4. occasionaly use the magic duster
Here's my situation:
- TSX is garaged at home
- in the sun at work
- i drive it pretty much everyday
- i live in socal

I have it and I love the thing. The filter does seem to not last very long. As far as the drying goes, it works well as long as you clean the car according to directions.
The only no-touch part they they claim is the drying, which it does. If you miss some dirt or something, then the drying won't work, which is the only time I've really had a problem with the company's claims. Also, it seems to be really crappy for windows.
It definately cuts wash times down quite a bit though. Even if you do have to hand dry it's usually in a few spots rather than the whole car, and the wet spot is generally pretty isolated.

I too have found it leaves a film on the car - will not get more filters once I use the last one. I have not been satisfied with the outcome.

Hey everyone, thanks for your input!
I just purchased the Mr. Clean kit today and will try it tomorrow. It sounds too good to be true. I guess all I hope for is that it does a decent job and save me time.
So after reading the instructions, here's the clean routine i came up with
1. rinse car (mr. clean)
2. soap car (mr. clean)
3. scrub car with soft microfiber sponge (bought this seperately)
4. rinse car (mr. clean)
5. purified water rinse (mr. clean)
6. water blade wet spots (bought seperately)
Now for the wax, i'm tempted to try the ALL NEW tutle wax
I'm not good at waxing, I hate getting the white dry wax in the cracks of the car.

They are very hard to find here in SoCal however and I ended up ordering directly from OXO themselves.
Just my
My Mr. Clean Kit experience.
It does speed up the car cleaning process, however when I used the jet-dry It didn't totally dry the car. So the commercial is a little decieving but overall I like how it speeds up my wash.
Then I used the waterblade on the leftover water and it was loudh, squeaky but got most (i'd say 70%) of the water off, then i went to a good old microfiber rag to finish it up.
as for the interior i used a thin microfiber rag and it cleaned all the prints off my navi as well.
so to recap about mr. clean car kit.
pros:
- sped up my wash time
- convienent to use (it had the filter, soap and rinse together)
cons:
- doesn't COMPLETELY driy off your car.

If you have a good wax job going, and you run the hose in a slow stream, like with no nozzle on it at all, over the paint right before you dry, most of the water should bead off, leaving it relatively easy to dry anyway. Not sure if it's as good as the Mr Clean, however.
Moda_Way and I have a good bud, "TopShelf" as we like to call him
Our bud TopShelf's dad, TS sr. works for P&G the makers of the Mr. Clean Autodry wash.
The wash won't work with Zaino or other liquid polymer treatments.
Zaino is a agent that prevents wetting of the car surface, ADCW does the exact oppisite by promoting wetting for a streak free shine.
They tested it out on his dad's Zaino'd Supra during test runs, needless to say if failed to dry streak free
.
The ideal finish [according to Top Shelf] is a new car finish that has no prior waxing.
Aside from the friend of a friend story you can take it or leave it, but I'm going to stick with the Zaino and regular old cheap car wash.
Let's face it, you'll spend like a bazzilion hours polishing your car and prepping the paint with Zaino but you won't spend a quality 30mins washing the car witha quality car wash and drying it with a cotton terry cloth or high quality synthetic towel.

Just got in from washing my baby, and DAMN...this system is amazing...The only use for my bucket now is for my Zaino products!
I did a rush job...but I was impressed non the less. Definately worth the money.

And I would be interested in it for a rush wash like before work or something.
