Hmmmmmmm,...... never heard of that before. The sun makes your dashboard fade, but I dont think it can make it a milky white ,....so I dont think its from the sun. Have you used any chemicals or products on it lately? In any event, regular use of products made for your cars interior is a good idea. I protect my interior with 303 Aerospace protectant and it does a great job IMO.

Anyway, Im sure the Pros like exceldetail and Hawhyen will have more insight than me on this issue.

There was a thread regarding a bulletin that addressed the issue and the use of a honda product to minimize the defect (if it can be called that). This has been a continuing problem and many here have used a number of different products in an effort to control/prevent fading/milking. Best recommendation I can suggest is to use a moistened MF towel to clean the dash, let it dry and apply a coat of 303 and take advantage of it's UV capabilities (at least once a month). If you park in an open lot during the day, I would also advise the use a sunscreen.

I have a TL and the top of my dashboard has faded. What is this 303 that you guys are talking about? Who makes it? Who sells it? When I mentioned to the Acura dealer of this situation, they gave me a cleaning kit but it doesn't seem to do much. So I am looking for an alternative solution. Thanks for your input.

the products offical name is 303 Aerospace Protectant. I Highly recommend this, it got rid of all the discoloration of the dash and restored it.

Yes, you have to buy it at a boating store or online. The uv potection is SPF 40. If it's used on boats, which are in the sun a lot, then it's good enough for my car. Also check out the samples:

I ordered this and they are great! Can't beat the price to try the products.

Ace Hardware, Kragen and many other places carry it. you don't have to go to a west marine to pick it up..............

Thank you guys so much. I just placed an order for a free sample directly from the company who makes the 303. I'll check it out, hope it works, I'll post later and let you know how it turned out. Ciao!

A quick tip, don't directly spray it on the dash, make sure you apply it onto a towel / applicator then rub into the dash.

I actually found Meguiars #40 to do a better job than the 303 .. lasts longer and less initial gloss.

Same application tho .. via cloth ... don't ever spray any of the PDMS dressings, (polydimethalsiloxane) directly on the dash.

That was one of the things I forgot to ask is how many times a year do you have to apply this 303 or meguiars 40 stuff? I guess it depends on your individual vehicles. So Jezztn, you think that meguiars 40 is better, last longer and leaves less of a shine then 303. I trust meguiars, they're a name you can trust in the car cleaning industry. So I guess while I am waiting for my free sample of 303, I can try meguiars 40. I'll do a compare test, and give you my results. Thank you again.
