magic eraser and goo gone?

i was just wondering if using mr. clean's magic eraser or goo gone would affect the paint or clearcoat. there was a bird crap stain on the hood so i used mr. clean magic eraser wrapped in a wet paper towel and it came right off. but afterwards there was a kind of dull spot where i used it (if you look at it from the right angle). after i washed/waxed it i think the spot is gone. or is it??

and would using goo gone to debadge do anything? just wanna be really careful.

The magic eraser is an actual sanding block. very fine particulates make up the block, so when it comes to surface care, be careful.....Take your fingernail and rub it against it for about 10 seconds and see how shiny it comes out!
Seek alternate methods, and seek help here. I will occasionaly use it on clear coated wheels for brake dust......
Goo Gone is not safe for anything plastic......

shit.

i went back and saw that the dull spot is still there, and it looks like there are some new swirls that came along with it. will a pc and some turtle wax scratch and swirl remover get it out?

also, what do you guys recommend for getting bird shit stains off besides washing the car? i get lazy. i would prefer to use something cheap and disposable but i dont want it to hurt the paint.
