a little oxidation removal

So.. i work in the Detail shop at a local Hyundai dealership while im in college anyways, even though it kinda is a crappy job its nice to try out different products and not have to pay for them! lol. i digress, there was a honda civic that someone traded in that we werent going to sell on the lot (cause of its age and milage) and the hood had a lot of oxidation on it so i figured "i wonder how good i could make it look lol, and since i was bored and i had some of my equipment in my car from a previous detail i went at it.

this is what i had on me

and the before pic (sorry it was blurry i had my camera on manual focus and i forgot to focus the pic lol)

as you can tell it was bad

no gloss whatsoever

the first plan of attack was with the menzerna pg with a lc orange pad, i worked but after everypass i had to wash the pad out from all the oxidation clogging it up, after i finished the whole hood with men pg the oxidation was gone but there were some buffertrails that i needed to clean up. this is after menzerna

and the final finish after a full pass with pinicle xmt fine swirl remover, and application of cg mirror-wet finish

the spots are rock chips in the hood
tell me what you guys think!!

7hr..... Don't you start higher than that at like McDonalds?

I guess if you plan on doing detailing as a side job or something the "internship" isn't bad however while going to school.

Great job to the OP. Some would consider that too far gone but you brought it back from the grave. If I were your boss I would give you a raise after seeing that. Maybe he's trying to keep you humble.

Awesome, congrats man!

On another note, I have the same gauge faces as you like in your avatar. However, mine go on and off intermittently on their own and it's not even a connection issue.

I hope your raise was significant.

You spend 5 hours at a exterior detail job on a used car at say $15.00 an hour. Your boss pays you $75.00 for this job.

Guess how much more the now swirl free car is worth now to the dealer ?

Take this to your boss for a better raise.
