Leather Seat Care
Need some advice on what to put on my leather seats. Local Autozone has Black Magic 2 in 1 Leather Care. It's a spray on/wipe off deal. They also have Meg's leather wipes. Will either of these work to condition the leather and bring back the suppleness while also protecting? You guys are the experts, so any help is appreciated.
dug, for cleaning, a 5:1 mix of woolite/distilled water does the job. After drying, follow up with a conditioner. There are many products available and it really becomes an individual preference. Check out this thread for more info regarding products and leather care.
Thanks for that link, Hawhyen51. I've been doing some more research and a local place has the Aerospace 303. I've read about a lot of people using this, though I know it's not aimed specifically at leather. Do you think this will condition the leather properly? Since it has other uses I can probably put it to good use in other applications as well. Thanks again...
The best benefit of 303 is its UV protection. UV, as we all know is the major component in most surfaces degredation. I'd be careful with any spray product as you dont want to get it in the vent holes in the seat area. Your better off spraying on a MF then applying. Frequent wiping with a damp MF is about all you really need, along with a conditioner/protectant.
FYI, the "leather smell" in leather care products is totally artifical........

Meguire's
I have been using Meguire's Leather Cleaner/Conditioner and have been very pleased with the results. It doesn't leave any shiny/slippery finish as an ArmorAll-like product would.
The only problem (which is true of most any leather conditioner you get) is with perforated leather. To avoid filling the holes with the conditioner, I found you can just apply it to a MF towel and rub it around on itself before applying to the leather.
