Leather conditioner?

Just curious what leather conditioner or other products others have used to treat their leather seats in the TLX and what results they've seen?

I have the black interior with the perforated leather seats (V6 SH-AWD Tech).

Thanks!

^^ I don't have the TLX but had a TL and the g/f has an ILX (and I have an IS350) and for me, I use the Meguiars leather conditioner. I apply a small application on a cloth and rub the seats. After I am done, I will use a warm damp cloth and just lightly remove the excess and I find it works wonders....I apply about twice a year but my vehicles are not exposed to the sunlight or very high temps.

I use Griots Garage leather care once/quarter. Acura now also has a line of leather care products. I guess my letter paid off...

Don't have a TLX either (yet), but have always used Lexol products on my leather interiors. Works well.

I use armoral leather wipes, try to do it every month or so

HOWEVER with the perforated seats due to the ventilated seats on my advance package I am scared to get in in the holes, anyone have advice for that?

Lexol will darken the leather over time! It's a good conditioner and I used to use it for years. I tried Leatherique once and the color difference was incredible! It lightened the leather that had been so darkened by the lexol.

The thing is most conditioners don't do anything for the leather as automotive leather is covered in a clear layer of plastic that keeps the oils in and everything else out.

That means any conditioner you are putting on is simply sitting on top of the leather and getting on your clothes!

I use 303 Aerospace protectant now on the leather to keep it from drying out and to prevent UV damage. Also gives darker trim a deep black color again.

To avoid getting stuff in the prefertions, use the fold method! Take your towel and fold it so it'll fit into your hand properly. Take product and apply to the towel. Now take towel and fold it in half! Open and repeat but folding in half 90 degrees from the last fold. That way all the product is spread over the 1 side of the towel and won't get everywhere.

you can use

Leather Master Strong Cleaner and protect it with Leather Master Protection Cream. These products leave a nice oem matte finish and work well.

I always used meguiars but recently got a deal on a lexol leather kit so I'm going to give that a shot.

Really can't go wrong with any of the well known name brands. Just make sure to not apply too much and to take the proper prep work: cleaning out any bits from the grooves, using a good leather cleaner, and then finishing it off with conditioner. Also give it some time to set in and feel free to remove the excess with a microfiber or even a warm microfiber (make sure to ring out the towel as best as you can before use)

A warm cloth wipe over the seats can help alot with the cleaner step as well. Opens up the "pores" a bit for a better clean. Also doing it before conditioner application is a good idea as well.

Lexol works great as well as the leatherique. Lexol is mainly for regular maintenance while leatherique is used to restore leather seats.
