So I recently I restocked on some new pads. I went with the popular 'Lake Country' pad this year as opposed to the Erasure pads sold at exceldetail previously.

To keep this short, I am very disappointed with the durability of this product. While it performs on par with the erasure, and the added 'step' between the pad and the velcro area gives me extra security that the DA's backing plate will not hit the paint on corners, The velcro is detaching from the pad after ONE (1) wash. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as my other pads (LC white seems to be holding fine, 4" LC white is coming loose too) have all held strong with over 10+ cycles.

This is after one wash, the same method I've been using the past year+ ...
Wash low press with Citrus wash microfiber concentrate, warm water, followed by 'Tumble Dry Low' in the dryer.

As you can see in the back is the erasure pad, discolored a little, but still holding strong...

Here is the front side of the pad with the detached velcro - this is after ONE use/ONE wash...

And the other one which also went through the same wash, but is already showing signs of the velcro detachment..



Any ideas on how to reattach the velcro?
is there any type of customer satisfaction exchange with Lake Country on this?

 

Contact LC on this one. They had issues with the adhesive but have solved the problem. I had it happen to one of my 4" white pads that I bought through Detailed Image and they replaced it free of charge.

Also I've found that washing pads on the cold water setting helps keep the velcro intact. Do NOT machine dry them.

 

Hey Johnny, what temperature wash did you use? I've never purchased any true LC pads so I can't really speak from experience.

 

I don't have any problems like that.
What I do is I dip the pads in DP pad rejuvenator for 15-20 minutes. I pull the pads out one by one, agitate it with a brush, and rinse out by hand in warm water. I then wring it out and leave on my shelves to dry. (Or I spin it dry with my rotary) But I never machine dry them (That may be your problem)

 

I use the warm setting on the washer and low temp on the dryer


@both of ya, I have been using this method on my LC whites as well as the erasures which i've had for over half-1 year and theyve all been holding up. It's only been happening to these LC orange's. This can get quite expensive if it happens every wash :/

 

Yeah, I would definitely see if wherever you bought them from can do anything about replacing them.

Temps shouldnt have anything to do with backing failure......The glue used is chemical resistant. (well it used to be)
I moved away from LC for this same reason.....Erasure II's are not LC products by the way.
