unfortunately, tons...thanks to the Long Island Expressway

flourescent lighting is very discriminating, moreso than actual sunlight, hence a detailer can maximize the work he does

he washed the car with industrial strength wash, more harsh than Dawn, to get the finish squeaky clean, compounded the sh!t out of the car, and used my Zaino

Yeah, flourescent does bend lighting in extreme ways. I've seen this image on eBay of a CL - forget where it was - but the dealer had a flourescent lit showfloor. Looked like oil was poured right on top of the car, it bended the light so well!

Yup, Dawn will not remove Zaino. Must use isopropyl alcohol or an abrasive like 3M SMR.

So then what is the point of Dawning....they re-claying once or twice a year. So I basically have all 30-40 coats of Zaino I've put on my car

the dawn is used only once on a zaino car - to start the prep process of removing the oils and waxes on the car.

sure, there are stronger cleaners, but nothing you need at home.

also, claying on top of 30-40 layers - will not take you down to nothing.
the assumption is that you have clayed prior to the first layer, and possibly inbetween (since 40 can take some people a while to accomplish). mild claying only takes a couple/few layers off.

aggresive claying will take more - but as i said, if you have clayed before first layer, there isnt likely a need to agressive clay

No problems man You put a lot of effort into your paint. I know you are z-nut but to say king of the detailing section? Perhaps you were saying it tounge-in-cheek? I know and some of other z-nuts go back and forth just trying to figure out what you mean.

yeah, uhhh, that's exactly what a PROFESSIONAL detailer is supposed to b...fawk with yer car

sux for u then, cuz u don't have the tools, the talent, and the know-how to take yer ride to the next level of show-car quality

o, and BTW, yer taking me too literally for the title

Scooter,

Could you please do me a “strange” favor ???
Ask that detailing shop what kind of Fluorescent bulbs they use in the shop.
Wattage, style and whatever else is written on the bulb.
It looks like it’s as bright as the SUN in there.
With that many fixtures I’m sure they have a box of spares sitting around somewhere.

The reason I ask is because I just had THREE 8-foot long twin-bulb housings installed in my garage directly over where the 2-vehicles park.
I was expecting it to be a HUGE improvement over the existing (4) 100-Watt bulbs.
Let’s just say I was less then impressed when I threw the switch for the first time.

I went to Home Depot to look for brighter replacement bulbs and they have like TEN ZILLION different kinds there. I need some help.

My car is a daily driver and will NEVER have show car quality.
Paint sees too much weather and too many particles flying at my hood at 80mph. It has NOTHING to do with people like you and me not having the talent to make the car shine. You do an excellent job yourself.

Spending $150 to have the car detailed and then watch as the storm clouds pour rain all over my car is not my idea of taking the car to the next level.

Just because a detailer is professional doesn't mean they are good. I am VERY careful about who does and doesn't touch the outside or inside of my car.

I figured it was tounge-in-cheek, just wanted to make sure BTW, not dissing the look of your car it looks nice.......
