Just got my PC and pads.

I am excited to tryout the new buffer, but have a few questions first. Whats the ideal temperature to detail the car? Its pretty cool here (high of 55), and i don't see it warming up at all this season. Will I have the same results now than if it was warm, or should I not worry about it?

Also, I have a clear bra type protectant film on my car. Is there anything I can do to clear it up with the buffer? Or is this something that will just have to be replaced?

Well, it's generally preferable that you detail your car in cooler temperatures so that the heat doesn't wreak havoc on your compound/polish as you're compounding/polishing the vehicle. Since the car in question is silver, temperature shouldn't be much of a concern as the paint won't absorb the heat as readily as a black vehicle would.

As far as the clear bra goes, you'll want to tape the edges so no compound/polish gets caught in the edge and you don't accidently catch the edge of the clear bra and start pulling it off. You can treat the clear bra the same as you would your paint but you must be cautious since it's not metal and lower RPMs, if you're using a rotary, are suggested. Other than that, the concept and method remains the same as paint.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Thanks, that helps a lot. I was going to avoid it all together, but now I'll try and fix some of those scratches.
