Interior detailing question

Hey guys, wondering if anyone had any tips/experiences with detailing the interior of 2nd generation tl? My interior is black. Question is regarding the dash bezel. I've noticed particulairly around the shifter that there quite a few light scratches and marks, nothing obvious, but I'm picky about my car...lol...any help on repairing or hiding those? I was thinking about repainting the silver plate around the shifter to touch it up a bit...thanks!

check the wash & wax subforum. great info there on both interior and exterior detailing.

for messier stains, try an all purpose cleaner like meguiars . for the light stuff, i use diluted woolite (also works great on leather i hear). after cleaning, i use 303 aerospace protectant. its great if you want protection without the slick shiny look

I'm not familiar with the second gen TL interior but what is the bezel made out of?

I think it's a hard plastic.

You just got to take it out and re-paint it.

It doesn't have a "clear coate" you could polish out...

I got the same shift gate bezel in my CLS.

Not 100% but I think the interior bezel looks like ABS plastic. Seems unpainted because one of the deep scratches keeps the same colour as the surface. I know the silver piece around the shifter needs to be repainted, but the remaining black/grey bezel piece is my real problem.

please be carefull with what your using to clean. i used this orange stuff that i didnt dilute and rubbed the black off the ash trays, they looked dull. had to get new ones from a junk yard.
