how much by hand..

I'm sure some of the newer people are wondering this too, so here we go. When looking at the cars you more professional people are providing for our please, I can't help to think at times about how much of the correction is done by hand? Those odd angles around a bumper or A B C pillars, around the front bumper. Is it all in the pad choice? Do you always plan out that your going to do part of the car with your largest pad, and then change backing plates and finish the rest of the car knowing its going to be cleaned in tight spaces with a smaller pad, or like i'm wondering, is some of the correction done by hand in spots.

Matt,

Rarely do I perform any correction work by hand. Under the door handles is prime location though, that's for sure. With newer cars it's not so bad, and most areas can be done by different sized pads and backing plates. On older cars though (with actual bumpers), there are more areas that need hand application. For this, I find that M105 is about the best.

If I know I'll have some areas that require smaller pads and plates, I'll just have them ready, and switch accordingly when I get to that area. If I feel I'll need both the rotary and PC, I'll have them all ready accordingly.

Hope this helps.

P.S. You might want to change up your sig. I got busted for that in the past, and admin deleted a whole bunch of my posts!

What the 4"pads cant reach, I usually address with my Excelerator hand pads. Usually the Optimum Compound or Polish works just fine for me........

I can pretty much hit everything with different size pads and whatever I can't hit, like under door handles and sometimes around the side mirror area, I do them by hand. When I do them by hand, I just grab my 4" pads and use those.

I always get confused with what paint correction is and what things are suppose to look like for you to correct...

Anytime your polishing, your physically/mechanically ''correcting" visual flaws. Otherwise, there would be no use in polishing, and one would opt for just a paint cleaner.
So, when your polishing, your enhancing, when your enhancing, your correcting something wrong. And yes, you can "correct" by hand, but its a definitely more laborious......
Paint "correction" is often referred to as something severe. This isnt really the case by definition.

Great.

That's what I figured.

But thought maybe it was something more extreme like correcting color.

Don't worry Noah, you'll have some good hours with the PC on Saturday. And what's even better is you'll be watched over by me.

Hmm, maybe I should do private tutoring sessions as another source of income, hehe.

Yeah...thank GOD!

Luckily I was able to clear with the landlord if I could use the driveway and I already parked in the spot in front of my house.

It's savage over here for parking! lol

Shitty thing is that I'm stuck over here at the house for the rest of the day because I don't want to lose my spot.
