How to clean windows?

After a discussion with a coworker, I'm quite confused. What is the best material to use to clean your windows? I have tint and usually just use an ammonia free glass cleaner with a soft wet paper towel. My coworker says to use microfiber towels, BUT I thought those cause minor scratching (since they are 80% polyester).

Is there a specific material detailers say is a must use for glass cleaning?

Use MF. Never had a scratch. If you want, thought, try using newspaper on the exterior. Neither newspaper or a quality MF towel will leave any lint behind, which is a nice benefit over paper towels.

I use a MF towel with a flat weave similar to the one pictured, lintless and scractch free. Same for the interior windows and for hard to reach areas like the corners, I'll squirt some Stoners IG or Sprayway Glass Cleaner on a Glass Master.

As long as their is no ammonia or harsh chemicals in a glass cleaner then your good. Microfibers work well but i find with some cleaners that i get a bit of streaking if the MF gets a bit too damp. To take care of those annoying smudges leftover after cleaning them I like to use bit of deionized water and a chamois or go over them with a dryer MF.

Glass glass glass.........A pain in the ass I say !
If I ever figure out the perfect glass cleaning method, i will share it with you guys!
So far, I use three different techniques when cleaning glass.
1. wipe with dry mf, this helps remove any pollution while avoiding smearing it around, as your not using any liquids.
2. Spray favored glass cleaner on MF or paper towel (I like Sprayaway), wipe window surface down.
3. Buff window down with a low/no nap MF.
And thats the best I can come up with.

if u have tint dont use an ammonia based cleaner it will fuck up your tints. i personally use mothers chrome polish leaves no streaking gets rid of water spots and feels smooth. when i dont use that i use stoners glass cleaner and newspaper. i like to use the home and garden section.lol

I just bought a used 2004 acura tl and noticed that there are waterspots on all the windows, accept the windshield. I have used every cleaner I can think of and they are still there.

Any suggestions?
